As a Key Control Technician at the Disneyland Resort, you will assist Line-of-Business (LOB) partners by assessing their lock/key needs and completing locksmith tasks such as: cutting keys, pinning cylinders, switching door hardware, assisting with the safes at DLR, engraving requests and key audits. Key Control also partners with various LOB’s when completing projects such as new hardware installs. There is a strong emphasis on internal Guest Service, communication and the ability to work with minimal direct supervision while completing tasks in the Resort. Key Technicians are also responsible for administrative procedures in the Key Control Office.
Essential Job Functions:
• Cutting Keys: Complete throughout the day. Cutting keys to code and stamping designated key number and serial numbers.
• Pinning Cylinders: Complete throughout the day. Pin cylinders to lock code. Basic math (addition and subtraction) required to determine pin number sizes.
• Switching Door Hardware: Installation or exchange of worn or obsolete hardware. Clean surrounding area when complete.
• Assists with safes: Troubleshoot mechanical issues and repair.
• Engraving: Engrave various types of wall plates per Line of Business requests.
• Key Audits: Verify and update records per designated timeframe for keys issued to Cast Members and Line of Business via Wisetrack.
• New Hardware Installs: Install Electronic locks.
Requirements:
Valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record for past year.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Flexible/adaptable (may work in a variety of areas, conditions and/or have changing shift start/end times).
Service Orientation: Enthusiastic about interacting and helping Cast Members from across the Resort; receptive to special requests.
Self-directed: Can complete tasks with minimal supervision. Willing to follow instruction and take direction.
Supportive of other Cast Members working on the team.
Detail Orientation: Can complete repetitious tasks while maintaining quality work.
Can create detailed reports for Cast Member requests.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
Locksmith experience.
