Sonar is seeking a motivated Tax Accounting & US Tax Lead to join their Finance Team in Geneva. This role involves proactively managing direct and indirect US taxes, supporting tax accounting with a focus on US GAAP, and reporting to the Head of Tax. The successful candidate will contribute to building secure, high-quality code solutions by ensuring robust tax operations within a dynamic, global company culture.
Must have:
  • Support the Head of Tax with US tax related projects
  • Manage US tax consultants and tax services providers
  • Automatize tax processes, leveraging third parties software and AI tools
  • Timely prepare U.S. federal, state and local returns income tax returns
  • Prepare Forms 1042
  • Prepare US sales tax returns
  • Manage US tax audits
  • Prepare and book the IC / TP computations & year-end adjustments
  • Prepare the monthly/quarterly/annual tax provisions for worldwide legal entities and relative JE
  • Reconcile the tax accounts
  • Assist with financial modeling and forecasting of various ad hoc transactions/scenarios
  • Improve the existing tax reporting/compliance processes
  • Manage the preparation of the quarterly and annual Group consolidated US GAAP Tax provision
  • Prepare group tax forecast
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years in US corporate taxation
  • Strong technical expertise in US tax laws, regulations, and principles
  • US GAAP tax accounting
  • Solid analytical and research skills
  • Proficiency with mid to large ERP system

  • Advanced degree and/or professional certification (e.g., CPA)
  • Experience in a public accounting firm and industry environment
  • Terrific team spirit and a mindset
  • Strong attention to details
  • Proficiency with Oracle/Netsuite, Google Suite, Avatax

The Impact You Will Have:

We are seeking a Tax Manager for the America region. The successful candidate will proactively manage direct and indirect US taxes and actively support the Tax Team with tax accounting with a focus on US GAAP. The position is within the Finance Team, reporting to the Head of Tax.

What You Will Do Daily:

  • Projects/Tax consulting
  • Support the Head of Tax with US tax related projects
  • Manage US tax consultants and tax services providers
  • Automatize tax processes, leveraging third parties software and AI tools
  • Tax compliance
  • Timely prepare U.S. federal, state and local returns income tax returns
  • Prepare Forms 1042
  • Prepare US sales tax returns
  • Manage US tax audits
  • Tax Accounting/Reporting
  • Prepare and book the IC / TP computations & year-end adjustments
  • Prepare the monthly/quarterly/annual tax provisions for worldwide legal entities and relative JE

The Experience You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; advanced degree and/or professional certification (e.g., CPA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in US corporate taxation, ideally with a mix of experience in a public accounting firm and industry environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in US tax laws, regulations, and principles
  • US GAAP tax accounting
  • Terrific team spirit and a mindset
  • Solid analytical and research skills
  • Strong attention to details
  • Proficiency with mid to large ERP system; Oracle/Netsuite, Google Suite, Avatax a plus
  • English is a must, French a plus.
