We are looking for a tax enthusiast to join an unconventional environment, participating in the development and delivery of high-performance tax software. This role involves working with the content quality and calculation integrity team, collaborating with tax experts to verify the accuracy of new specifications based on budgets and law changes, ensuring calculations comply with tax laws, and suggesting application improvements to meet client needs.

Must Have

  • Perform tax quality control on assigned tax topics in collaboration with the development team.
  • Design and update tax test cases with tax specialists.
  • Run tax test cases.
  • Review programming code to detect calculation anomalies.
  • Engage with customers post-launch to research calculation problems.
  • Hold a college diploma (DEC) or bachelor's degree in business administration (tax, accounting, finance) or equivalent.
  • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation.
  • Be proficient in computer skills and intermediate Excel functions (macros).
  • Demonstrate ability to read in English.
  • Work effectively in a team.
  • Respect deadlines, show rigor, and concern for quality.
  • Exhibit autonomy and initiative.
  • Communicate with ease.
  • Be available to work overtime during releases.

Job Description

Tax Quality Assurance Analyst

Summary:

We are looking for someone with a passion for taxation who wants to work in an unconventional environment where they will participate to the development and release of high-performance, state-of-the-art tax software. The incumbent will work within the team responsible for the quality of the content and the integrity of the calculations of the tax applications sent to our clients. This person will work closely with the tax experts and will have the task of verifying the accuracy of the new specifications implemented in the application following new budgets and changes in laws. The person will also have to verify that the calculations comply with tax laws and suggest changes in the application to better meet the needs of our clients.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Using guides and tax law, perform tax quality control related to the tax topics assigned to you, in collaboration with members of the development team.
  • Design and update tax test cases in collaboration with tax specialists.
  • Running tax test cases.
  • Perform a review of the programming code to detect anomalies related to calculations.
  • Depending on the needs of the tax support team, engage with customers after the launch of software to market by conducting research when calculation problems arise.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College diploma (DEC) or bachelor's degree in business administration, tax, accounting or finance option or the equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation or the equivalent.
  • Computer skills and mastery of intermediate Excel functions (macros).
  • Ability to read in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Respect for deadlines, rigor and concern for quality.
  • Autonomy and initiative.
  • Ease of communicating.
  • Availability to work overtime during releases.
