Job Description

Digital Sun is seeking a skilled Technical Artist to join their team in Valencia, Spain. The Technical Artist will bridge the gap between art and programming, optimizing workflows and assets for games. This role involves creating and optimizing assets, understanding 3D modeling, texturing, and rigging pipelines, and creating shaders. The ideal candidate will also have experience with scripting languages, performance profiling, and strong communication skills. Responsibilities include collaborating with artists and engineers to solve complex visual and technical challenges.
Good To Have:
  • 2+ years of experience as a Technical Artist
  • Experience with procedural content generation (Houdini)
  • Knowledge of VFX, particle systems, and lighting
  • Experience with animation systems and tools
  • Proficiency in custom tool development (Blender, Maya)
  • Strong understanding of shader programming (HLSL, GLSL)
  • Ability to collaborate with artists and engineers
  • A portfolio showcasing technical problem-solving

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Technical Artist (Tech-Artist) to join our in-house team in the vibrant city of Valencia, Spain.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine) with experience in creating and optimizing assets.
  • Solid understanding of 3D modeling, texturing, and rigging pipelines.
  • Knowledge of shader creation and material optimization for real-time rendering.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, MEL, or C#) for automating workflows and tool development.
  • Familiarity with performance profiling and asset optimization for various platforms (PC, console, mobile).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a Spanish and English-speaking environment.

Desired Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Technical Artist in the gaming industry or a related field.
  • Experience with procedural content generation (e.g., Houdini).
  • Knowledge of VFX, particle systems, and lighting in game engines.
  • Experience with animation systems and creating tools for animators.
  • Proficiency in using and developing custom tools within DCC applications (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max).
  • Strong understanding of shader programming using HLSL or GLSL.
  • Ability to collaborate with both artists and engineers to solve complex visual and technical challenges.
  • A portfolio showcasing technical problem-solving in art and game development.
