Scope:
We are seeking a skilled Control-M Engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise batch scheduling and workload automation solutions. The role involves managing end-to-end batch processing, troubleshooting job failures, optimizing schedules, and ensuring business-critical processes run efficiently and reliably. You will work closely with application, infrastructure, and support teams to deliver highly available, secure, and scalable workload automation services.
What you’ll do:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Control-M (Server, Agent, and EM components).
- Manage Control-M environments across development, testing, and production.
- Design, develop, and maintain batch schedules and job flows.
- Onboard new applications and workloads into Control-M.
- Ensure schedules meet SLAs and optimize execution time.
- Proactively monitor batch job performance and address failures.
- Troubleshoot job and environment issues, performing root cause analysis.
- Provide timely incident response and resolution to minimize downtime.
- Implement API-based integrations with third-party tools and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Leverage Control-M Automation API and job templates for consistent deployment.
- Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to change management, security, and compliance standards.
- Partner with application owners, DBAs, and platform teams for seamless batch execution.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning for Control-M infrastructure.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 to 8 years of hands-on experience administering BMC Control-M in large enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of Control-M architecture (EM, Server, Agent, Plugins).
- Job scheduling, calendars, and dependencies.
- Control-M Workload Automation and Automation API.
- Proficiency in shell scripting, Python, or PowerShell for automation.
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
