Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Manager to lead the technical operations of an immersive Interactive VR Attraction- Insterstellar Arc- Las Vegas. This role will be responsible for overseeing the performance, maintenance, and integration of Audio/Visual (AV) systems, LED displays, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, ensuring a seamless and high-quality guest experience. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on background in AV engineering, live events or themed entertainment, and systems-level knowledge of IT and networking technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical operation of all AV and LED systems within the VR attraction, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Manage and maintain high-end projection, immersive audio systems, LED walls, and interactive display technologies.
- Supervise the setup, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of AV and IT components.
- Oversee the integration of VR content systems with audio, video, lighting, and control systems (e.g., show control or building management systems).
- Ensure all systems are operating in sync with the VR experience, providing real-time responsiveness and interactivity.
- Coordinate with creative, software development, and operational teams to support new features, upgrades, and maintenance windows.
- Lead technical staff and contractors during installation, live operations, and service periods.
- Operate as a QA lead on-site, driven by local initiatives, or lead by our Head of QA in Montreal.
- Maintain system documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, software configs, and asset management.
- Manage vendor relationships for hardware, software, and technical support services.
- Implement and enforce best practices in IT security, network reliability, and data management for show systems.
- Contribute in filtering, selecting and recruiting candidates (technical, operation) on-site.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in AV/LED system integration, live events, themed entertainment, or interactive attractions.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Audio/Visual systems
- LED walls and video processors
- Media servers and show control
- Solid foundation in IT systems, including:
- IP networking (VLANs, switches, routers)
- Windows/Linux environments
- Remote monitoring and support tools
- Familiarity with VR hardware and tracking systems (MetaQuest)
- Experience with QA processes
- Proven leadership in a technical or production environment.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, signal flow diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced entertainment environment.
