Job Description

A Technical Project Manager for automotive defines, plans, and directs multiple enterprise-level Software Development and Information Technology projects. This role involves leading cross-functional teams in planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality products, aligning schedules, improving communication, managing risks, and removing impediments. The manager will proactively drive the full software development life cycle from inception through post-production, blending traditional project management principles with an Agile approach for large and complex projects. A solid technical background, keen analytical skills, and proficiency in written communication are required.
Must have:
  • Work with Business Owners, Product Managers & BSAs with management of project scope and deliverables.
  • Establish release plans and effectively monitor progress against project plans, identifying risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, customer expectations and stakeholder communications.
  • Manage changes to the Plan through effective participation in change control processes.
  • Coordinate development and delivery activities among various project participants and partners, including end-to-end testing.
  • Organize and facilitate working sessions across distributed scrum and non-scrum teams.
  • Assist with management of campaign creative and timeline of launching new campaigns.
  • Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documentation.
  • Coordinate internal demos, client UATs, PHQ, dealer and client training and track Production releases.
  • 3+ years as a Project Manager in Software Development or Information Technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required (Computer Science or closely related field preferred).
  • Detail oriented with good oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met.
  • Project management "tool" experience such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps (ADO) or JIRA.
Good to have:
  • Automotive and Retail experience.
  • Knowledge of CRM Applications, Content Management, Web, CSS, ASP.net, APIs, SQL and Oracle Databases or Salesforce.com.

Overview

A Technical Project Manager for automotive is responsible for defining, planning, and directing multiple enterprise level Software Development and Information Technology projects. The ideal candidate will bring previous experiences, good practices, and a collaborative attitude to help drive revenue growth and increase effectiveness in value and quality of software we create.

The successful candidate must have experience leading cross-functional teams in the planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality products to align schedules, improve communications, manage risks and identify and remove impediments. Proactively drive the full software development life cycle from inception through post-production utilizing a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional project management principles and practices with an Agile approach to fit large and complex projects. A solid technical background, keen analytical skills, proficiency at written communication, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills are required. The candidate will report to the Automotive Project Management Office (PMO).

Responsibilities

  • Work with Business Owners, Product Managers & BSAs with management of project scope and deliverables and the inflow of new projects from inception to implementation.
  • Establish release plans and effectively monitor progress against project plans, identifying risks, issues, and mitigation strategies. Create detailed schedules, burn down and velocity charts, project progress reports, and other deliverables essential to project execution and control.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, customer expectations and stakeholder communications by ensuring transparency and visibility of project progress, risks and impediments.
  • Manage changes to the Plan through effective participation in change control processes
  • Coordinate development and delivery activities among various project participants and partners, including end-to-end testing and campaign fulfillment testing.
  • Organize and facilitate working sessions across distributed scrum and non-scrum teams, such as Epic refinement, dependency and user story mapping, and release planning.
  • Assist with management of campaign creative and timeline of launching new campaigns
  • Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documentation.
  • Coordinate internal demos, client UATs, PHQ, dealer and client training and track Production releases.
  • Perform other tasks as may be requested by your leadership.

Compensation Range: $54,910 - $79,530 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
