Job Description

As a Technical Solutions Program Manager at Microsoft's Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP), you'll play a key role in managing the Bill of Materials (BOM) process for Azure hardware offerings. You will work with cross-functional teams, create executive-level presentations, define BOM strategies for innovative technologies, and drive initiatives across the Product Data Management Engineering (PDME) team. Responsibilities include defining and developing BOM strategies, engaging with stakeholders, monitoring the BOM process, and identifying areas for improvement. This role requires strong communication, technical understanding, and experience managing cross-functional projects within a large-scale cloud environment.
Must have:

Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth including AI!
CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud Capacity Differentiated at Scale. Our mission is to deliver capacity for all cloud services predictably through intelligent systems driven by continuous learning and a world class organization. The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.

The Product Data Management Engineering Team is responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of several Hardware offerings to support Azure technologies in Mission Critical Data Centers.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ Years experience with PowerPoint
  • 2+ Years experience giving executive level presentations

Other Requirements: 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of experience in one of the following; computer hardware engineering, data center engineering, systems development, program management or running engineering change management processes
  • 2+ years' experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience understanding technical documentation used to configure enterprise hardware devices.

 

Technical Solution Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.

Responsibilities

As a Technical Solutions Program Manager on our team, you will have a direct and clear impact on our products and customers. As a critical part of the Product Data Management Engineering BOM team within Microsoft’s CSCP Organization, you will work with internal stakeholders to help manage and drive the BOM Management process across organizations and help in the creation of Rack Level sku Build of Materials (BOM).

  • Create and present Executive Level content
  • Define and develop BOM’s strategies for innovative technology
  • Drive broad initiatives across PDME with other Supply Chain stakeholders
  • Engage with various stakeholders, such as project managers, engineers, quality assurance teams, and end-users, to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure alignment for Product Data Management Engineering strategies
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the BOM Management process and identify areas for improvement. This may involve gathering feedback, conducting post-implementation reviews, and suggesting process enhancements to optimize change management practices.
