The ideal candidate will validate procedural and reference content against the product for accuracy and usability. This position offers flexible working hours and a hybrid work model.
Must have:

Adtran is looking for a highly motivated Technical Writer to join our global Technical Documentation team in Gdynia. If you're looking to be part of a dynamic, innovation-driven company focused on building the future alongside its employees, we encourage you to apply.

Principal duties and essential functions

As a Technical Writer, you will collaborate with a global technical documentation team to develop high-quality hardware and software documentation for Adtran products.

  • Support the development and maintenance of online help, software and hardware guides, and other technical documentation as needed

  • Adhere to departmental and company standards, including writing style, content organization, file maintenance, and release processes.

  • Define, gather, and analyze customer requirements for user documentation

  • Work with developers and stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of application and equipment documentation

  • Validate procedural and reference content against the product to ensure accuracy and usability

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • Comprehensive English language skills, especially written skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Technical Writer in a high-tech environment (networking experience preferred).

  • Experience with topical authoring and XML authoring tools. Markdown/docs as code experience a plus

  • Experience with common online help formats, including web help

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and investigative skills

  • Practical knowledge of topic-based authoring and content reuse

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Technical Writing, English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field

  • Willingness to collaborate with geographically distributed engineering teams

Success Criteria

  • Ability to work independently as the primary technical writer/project manager on assigned projects

  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to estimate work effort and meet deadlines

  • Flexibility to hit moving targets and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Critical eye for evaluating documentation usability and intuitiveness

  • Understanding of telecommunication networking concepts and standards

  • Strong negotiation skills and technical aptitude

  • Keen attention to detail
