Job Description

This role involves owning on-time performance for high-value dedicated truckload customers, managing bookings, carrier relationships, and cargo security. The supervisor will drive new business growth with existing and new clients, supporting centralized and local Transcon operations, finance, and service providers. Key responsibilities include contributing to daily department meetings, ensuring effective communication, managing carrier capacity, and maintaining high service levels for customers and the network.
Must Have:
  • Own on time performance and requirements related to High value dedicated truckload customers.
  • Manage High Value FTL bookings, carrier management, cargo security, and best in class service.
  • Drive new logo growth alongside the Transcon Manager and Supervisor.
  • Drive new business growth with existing High value customers utilizing exceptional management and customer service.
  • Support centralized and local High value dedicated Transcon operations, finance, people, service providers and customers.
  • Contribute to effective daily department meetings related to dedicated operations with the team.
  • Engage in effective communication with Transcon department, all other local teams, the Transcon network, service providers, local management and CHQ.
  • Support of operational job functions related to dedicated operations, customer/carrier cut-offs, and the movement of freight.
  • Manage and balance carrier capacity with estimated shipment schedule.
  • Own the level of service provided to both our customers and our network.
  • Adherence to company procedures as outlined in Operational Performance Standards.
  • Manage the performance and rates of our approved service providers.
  • Analyze carrier performance and available capacity to make informed decisions.
  • Attend Transition and Implementation/Account management network calls related to new high value truckload business.
  • Implement team ownership in High value security protocols and operational procedures.
  • Assist in managing superior customer service experience with our dedicated asset operation customers.
  • Assist manager and supervisor in building and expanding a robust sales pipeline.
  • Understand high value dedicated customer matrix and how to capture market share.
  • Take an active role in assisting the manager and supervisor in the transition of new business/updates to existing business.
  • Drive new logo business with the manager and supervisor.
  • Drive new business opportunities with current dedicated operation enhanced security customers.
  • Diversify and grow revenue with new and existing customers who require dedicated asset protocol support.
  • Grow revenue per shipment on dedicated assets and negotiate accurate contractual rates with asset carriers.
  • Own the accurate protection of costs.
  • Manage timely and accurate invoices against shipment requirements, SOP, and/or customer tariff.
  • Promote compliance with all company policies and regulations.
  • Proactively communicate with the team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.
  • Maintain certifications related to daily work.
  • Leverage approved digital technologies.
  • Monitor Transcon tools (Workboard and Performance dashboard) to ensure total customer satisfaction.
  • Support adherence to system security measures.
  • Complete all Transcon required training.
  • Complete all related DG compliance-training requirements.
  • Meet company standards of 52 hours training per year.
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in outbound enhanced dedicated operations management and Transcon operations.
  • Knowledge of Expeditors company policies and procedures, products, services, and systems.
  • Knowledge of your local and overall centralized domestic freight forwarding market.
  • High value truckload management with shipper/customer, carrier involvement and specialized requirements.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word etc.).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to relate to all levels and interested parties.
  • Effective time management.
  • Exceptional customer service at all levels.

Job Description

Purpose

  • Own on time performance and requirements related to High value dedicated truckload customers.
  • Manage High Value FTL bookings, carrier management, cargo security, and best in class service.
  • Drive new logo growth alongside the Transcon Manager and Supervisor.
  • Drive new business growth with existing High value customers utilizing exceptional management and customer service.

Support centralized and local High value dedicated Transcon operations, finance, people, service providers and customers with focus on, on-time performance, operational efficiencies, business development, revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

People

  • Contribute to effective daily department meetings related to dedicated operations with the team. Use the workboard to support the manager and supervisor in communicating, delegating assigning and/or completing work among the entire team.
  • Engage in effective communication with Transcon department, all other local teams, the Transcon network, service providers, local management and CHQ.
  • Operate under the principle that acting for the benefit of one, while taking from another does not support our network.

Operations

  • Support of operational job functions related to dedicated operations, customer/carrier cut-offs, and the movement of freight.
  • Manage and balance carrier capacity with estimated shipment schedule.
  • Own the level of service provided to both our customers and our network with the highest level of service and cost avoidance.
  • Adherence to company procedures as outlined in Operational Performance Standards, productivity and compliance standards, and job descriptions.
  • Manage the performance and rates of our approved service providers.
  • Analyze carrier performance and available capacity to make informed decisions.
  • Attend Transition and Implementation/Account management network calls related to new high value truckload business.

Qualifications

Training Requirements:

  • Complete all Transcon required training.
  • Complete all related DG compliance-training requirements.
  • Meet company standards of 52 hours training per year, including as needed management/leadership training.

Education and Experience:

  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in outbound enhanced dedicated operations management and Transcon operations.

Knowledge

  • Expeditors company policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of your local and overall centralized domestic freight forwarding market.
