Job Description
We are looking for a UX Researcher to join our team supporting story-driven, open-world RPGs like The Witcher and Cyberpunk franchises. As a mid-level researcher, you will be responsible for designing and executing UX research studies, ensuring that player experience remains central to our development process. Working closely with Senior UX Researchers, you will play a key role in collecting data, analyzing findings, and delivering actionable insights to game teams. Your work will directly shape the next generation of immersive worlds created by CD PROJEKT RED.

Daily responsibilities
- Design and execute qualitative UX research studies, including usability testing, playtesting, and player interviews.
- Create study protocols, moderator guides, and research materials needed for study execution.
- Manage research logistics to ensure smooth execution of studies.
- Collect and analyze research data, identifying key patterns and actionable insights.
- Synthesize findings into clear, well-structured reports that can be used by game teams.
- Maintain effective collaboration and communication throughout the research process.
Qualifications
Must have
- 2+ years of experience in UX research, user-centered design, or human-computer interaction.
- 1+ years of experience specifically in games user research (GUR), conducting player-focused studies.
- Strong knowledge of qualitative research methods, including usability testing, survey design, and behavioral analysis.
- Ability to independently design, execute, and analyze research studies.
- Demonstrable skills in data interpretation and report writing, ensuring insights are clear and actionable.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with people from different disciplines.
Other relevant qualifications
- Background in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or a related field through previous experience or academic degree.
- Understanding of game development cycles and familiarity with agile methodologies.
- Passion for game design and player experience, with a desire to use research to shape engaging and immersive games.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
- Strong analytical mindset, capable of identifying patterns in player behavior and translating them into meaningful recommendations.
Nice to have
(Please note that these skills are not required to apply for the position)
- MSc or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
- Experience with advanced statistical methods, telemetry analysis, or biometric-tracking research.
- Practical understanding of quantitative UX research methods.
