This role is for a VAT Manager responsible for preparing German VAT returns and collaborating with global tax advisors for local VAT submissions. Key responsibilities include maintaining VAT account reconciliations, coordinating with IT for technical solutions, and leading VAT projects. The position requires solid knowledge of German and International VAT/GST, analytical skills, and fluency in both German and English. Must have:
  • Preparing the monthly German VAT return, the ZM Meldung, and the annual VAT return
  • Collaborating closely with global tax advisors to prepare local VAT returns and ensure timely submission and payments
  • Maintaining monthly reconciliation of our global VAT accounts
  • Coordinating with the IT team to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Leading VAT projects driven by legislative changes or business initiatives
  • Providing strategic advice and solutions for complex VAT challenges
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation for VAT

Roles and responsibilites:

  • Preparing the monthly German VAT return, the ZM Meldung, and the annual VAT return
  • Collaborating closely with global tax advisors to prepare local VAT returns and ensure timely submission and payments
  • Maintaining monthly reconciliation of our global VAT accounts
  • Coordinating with the IT team to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Leading VAT projects driven by legislative changes or business initiatives
  • Providing strategic advice and solutions for complex VAT challenges
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation for VAT

Knowledge and experience required:

  • Solid knowledge of German and International VAT/GST within a global context
  • A minimum of three years' experience in VAT law, ideally gained in a multinational organization or accounting firm
  • SAP knowledge with experience in indirect tax setup would be a plus
  • Analytical skills and keen attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate
  • Fluency in German & English
