Job Description

NVIDIA seeks a highly motivated student for a 4-6 month internship supporting the adaptation of autonomous driving software to various vehicle variants. Responsibilities include installing and troubleshooting software, collecting test data, tuning parameters, understanding ADAS feature functionality, analyzing metrics, identifying issues, and improving product experience. The role involves working with embedded systems, C/C++, scripting languages (Python, Bash), Linux and QNX environments, and collaborating with customers. On-site attendance in Sindelfingen, Germany is required.
Must have:
  • Interest in technology, automotive, software or hardware
  • Experience with embedded systems and C/C++ or scripting
  • Proficiency with Linux and QNX command line
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
Good to have:
  • Dual studies or ADAS internship at Tier 1 or OEM
  • Understanding of autonomous vehicle stack and integration challenges
  • Knowledge of vehicle architecture and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)

NVIDIA is looking for a highly motivated students to join its fast-paced customer delivery organization for a 4 - 6 months long internship in Vehicle Testing. In this role, you will be supporting the organization’s efforts to adapt NVIDIA’s autonomous driving software stack to various variants and drive the function behavior to maturity. It involves tuning and adapting self-driving software in the target vehicles and on the customer sites / testing grounds.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting the adaptation, integration and testing of NVIDIA vehicle automation software in customer vehicle variants.

  • Installing, trouble-shooting and operating software.

  • Collect test data or tune parameters live in-car or on a bench.

  • Understand the quality standards and expected functionality of brand-new ADAS features.

  • Analyze & diagnose the underlying events contributing to these metrics, identify issues and help improving the product experience

What we need to see:

  • An interest in technology, automotive, software or hardware engineering and relevant coursework.

  • A last year BSc or MSc student

  • Experience with embedded systems and C/C++ or a scripting language (Python, Bash, etc) to be proficient operating a complex software stack.

  • Ability to work efficiently with Linux and QNX environments on the command line.

  • Good communication and organization skills, with a logical approach to problem solving, good time management and task prioritization skills, soft skills for customer interaction.

  • Passion for working on cars, autonomous driving or software engineering

  • Onsite attendance in the development and testing location in Sindelfingen is expected daily

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Dual studies or an internship experience as ADAS software engineer at a Tier 1 or OEM.

  • Well-rounded knowledge of how an autonomous vehicle stack (or similar large system) works, and practical experience dealing with the challenges in integrating many components into one solution

  • Understanding of vehicle architecture and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
