This leadership role for a VP of Automotive Sales in China focuses on shaping the future of Automotive technology at Qualcomm China. Key responsibilities include defining vision and mission, aligning strategies, leading a talented team, driving innovation with cutting-edge chipsets and software, identifying strategic opportunities, cultivating partnerships, managing budgets, and negotiating complex commercial agreements. The VP will leverage deep market understanding to position Qualcomm's Automotive offerings effectively and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
Must have:

General Summary:

This leadership role can be based in Shanghai, Beijing, or Shenzhen.

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary VP to lead our China Automotive business line. As a key leader at QUALCOMM China, you will shape the future of Automotive technology, leveraging our cutting-edge chipsets, software, and systems to transform user experiences. Your strategic insights, technical acumen, and leadership will drive our success in this dynamic field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with executive team members to define our Automotive vision and mission. Align Automotive strategies with our overall business objectives.
  • Understand the customer’s and partners’ business, strategies and partners’ business, and facilitating business deals ensuring alignment with Qualcomm’s business objectives and requirements
  • Lead a talented Automotive team. Foster innovation, mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Conversant of Automotive trends, emerging technologies, and industry standards. Drive innovation by integrating our package of chipset, and system solution as the underlying Automotive technology, and evolve our software developer SDK/HDK solutions to as many app developers as possible.
  • Identify strategic opportunities for Automotive applications across multiple vertical markets. Cultivate partnerships with OEMs, developers, and content creators.
  • Have in-depth expertise and robust experience in building business cases for previously unidentified business opportunities and influencing strategic business partners to define and deploy technology-based solutions
  • Own the overall customers, including developing and managing relationships across the technical and commercial groups.
  • Oversee Automotive budgeting, resource allocation, and cost-effective execution of all products.
  • Manage and negotiate complex long-term commercial agreements with major global companies.
  • Analyze market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscapes. Make data-driven decisions to position our Automotive offerings effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or a related field of study
  • 15+ years of demonstrated success in Business Development, Sales, Product Management or related work experience.
  • Customer engagement at automakers and Tier-1's at executive and leadership level
  • Ten (10) years of leadership experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, MBA or a related field of study
  • Twenty (20) or more years of related work experience, industry, eco-system, customer, and competitive knowledge
  • Ten (10) or more years of leadership experience including people management
  • Ten (10) or more years working in a global technology organization
  • Deep understanding of Automotive developer, applications and services ecosystem, managing platform level software roadmap with SDK/HDKs releases for the developer community.
  • Understanding of open source software development and the open source community.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • SoC architecture knowledge
  • Press and analyst event experience
