As the Vice President of Marketing & Product, you will lead global marketing efforts to position ONI as a preferred partner for super-resolution microscopy researchers. This role involves accelerating adoption across academic, biotech, and pharma segments, strengthening brand leadership, and driving revenue growth. You will lead the global marketing organization, including Product Marketing, Demand/Growth, Digital, Brand/Communications, and Applications Content, collaborating closely with Sales, R&D/Product, and Finance to define strategy, pipeline, and business growth. This onsite role in San Diego is crucial for shaping the future of super-resolution microscopy adoption globally.

As the Vice President of Marketing & Product you will own the global marketing to position ONI as the partner of choice for researchers advancing super‑resolution microscopy and related workflows. Accelerate adoption across academic, biotech, and pharma segments while strengthening brand leadership, market presence, and revenue growth. Lead the global marketing organization, including Product Marketing, Demand/Growth, Digital, Brand/Communications, and Applications Content, while partnering closely with Sales, R&D/Product, Finance, and regional leaders to drive strategy, pipeline, and business growth.

This leader will define how ONI shapes the future of super-resolution microscopy adoption globally, driving both scientific impact and commercial success. This role will be onsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and own the global marketing strategy, segmentation, and go‑to‑market plan aligned to corporate objectives and priority use cases. Define short and long-term growth priorities with measurable goals and market share targets.
  • Be the executive voice of the customer - capture and institutionalize market, competitor, and KOL insights to guide portfolio bets, positioning, and category narratives.
  • Shape product portfolio strategy with R&D/Product—define differentiated value propositions and launch strategies for instruments, software, and workflows; prioritize markets with clear business cases. Optimize portfolio economics—lead pricing and packaging strategy with Finance to improve margins, competitiveness, and deal frameworks.
  • Drive revenue pipeline and share—architect integrated demand and ABM programs; Partner with Sales on territory plans, SLAs, and forecast accuracy; drive full‑funnel analytics, pipeline visibility, and ROI.
  • Establish scalable marketing operations, analytics dashboards, and campaign performance reviews to ensure predictable pipeline growth.
  • Own and steward the brand, ensuring consistent positioning, messaging, and thought leadership across all channels to strengthen recognition, credibility and market influence.
  • Elevate ONI’s digital presence, leveraging SEO/SEM, content marketing, and both paid and earned media partnerships, while adopting AI-driven tools to optimize targeting, personalization and campaign performance.
  • Champion ONI’s presence at key industry events and through publications, KOL, engagement, and strategic partnership to enhance visibility and generate new opportunities; serve as public spokesperson.
  • Build and scale a high‑performing global marketing and product management organization—recruit, develop, and retain leaders; set the operating rhythms, OKRs, and maintain budget discipline.
  • Contribute at the company leadership level—partner with the executive team on corporate strategy, alliances, major customer opportunities, and investor narratives.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in strategic marketing, product management, or commercial leadership roles within life science tools, imaging instrumentation, or related scientific industries.
  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Marketing, or a related field such as Cell Biology, Biophysics, or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Proven success leading successful complex scientific life science technology product launches.
  • Demonstrated expertise in both strategic planning and hands-on execution of marketing, product, and growth initiatives.
  • Experience engaging and supporting global scientific customer bases, including academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Proven success in growing demand as measured by the commercial pipeline by shaping brand strategies across scientific instruments and imaging workflows, with a strong understanding of researcher needs, workflow value drivers, and product lifecycle management.
  • Strong strategic thinking, operational execution, and cross-functional leadership skills.

Annual salary range for this role is $250,000 - $280,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
