Description:
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Singapore Controllership team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, and supporting various compliance and reporting activities within the team.
We will count on you to:
- Manage the monthly closing process, including flash reporting and commentary, in collaboration with the Accounting Operations (AO) in KL and the Centreof Excellence (COE) in Mumbai.
- Conduct variance analysis and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet analyses to ensure timely resolution of exceptional items.
- Support interim audits and act as the primary liaison with internal and external auditors, ensuring compliance with SOX controls and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee quarterly tax submissions and ensure adherence to local statutory and tax accounting and reporting.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to support finance operating requirements and resolve operational matters.
- Participate in projects affecting the department and its processes, responding to ad hoc requests for financial information and operational analysis.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 8-15 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multinational corporation and the insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of SOX, US GAAP, Financial Reporting Standards in Singapore, and Singapore tax regulations.
