About the job:
As an Ads Billing Engineering Manager at Google, you will be responsible for guiding both the product and technical aspects of development, including innovation, requirement gathering, design, implementation, productionization, and launch. You will own and solve large, open-ended cross-product area problems, working with several executives (principle, distinguished) engineers across multiple Ads teams and Payments. You will work on ambiguity, identifying and defining the scope of ambiguous problems, making them tractable with a clear growth path for a larger organization size that supports L8 scope. Your expertise in software development, technical leadership, and team management will be crucial in driving the success of Google Ads.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience with software development
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • 5 years of experience in a people management role
  • Experience in software development of large-scale systems
  • Experience in software architecture, leadership, and technical guidance
Good to have:
  • Experience in People Management
  • Collaboration, Thought Leadership, Strategic Planning
  • Excellent team leadership and internal/external communication skills

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript)
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 5 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in software development of large-scale systems.
  • Experience in software architecture, leadership, and technical guidance of an implementation.
  • Experience in People Management, Collaboration, Thought Leadership, Strategic Planning.
  • Ability to own multiple solve large, open-ended Cross-Product Area (PA) problems working with several executives (principle, distinguished) engineers across multiple Ads teams and Payments.
  • Excellent team leadership and internal/external communication skills.
