Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team as an engineer on the Digital Mission Engineering (DME) team, supporting customers with real-world engineering simulation projects and Ansys software integration. You will provide technical post-sales support, solve technical challenges, and relay customer feedback to improve Ansys products like Systems Tool Kit (STK), Orbit Determination Tool Kit (ODTK), and Test and Evaluation Tool Kit (TETK). This role offers opportunities to advance knowledge and experience in various engineering disciplines, with a direct impact on customer and Ansys success. The position is based in Exton, PA and is an in-person role.
Must have:
  • BS in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 0+ years of professional experience in engineering software
  • Experience with relevant Ansys software or other CAE/CAD/EDA/PLM software
  • Coursework/work experience in astrodynamics, orbit determination, trajectory optimization, or attitude determination and control systems
  • Experience with Python, Matlab, C++, or Java
  • Logical problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken English)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Professional image and business acumen
Good to have:
  • BS+2 or MS+0 years of experience
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
  • Experience with STK or ODTK
  • Coursework or work experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
  • Background in Astrodynamics, Aerodynamics, Communications, Radar, Geospatial Analysis, Spacecraft Operations, or Space Situational Awareness

Summary / Role Purpose  

Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to support our customers on all the aspects of their real-world engineering simulation projects and integration of Ansys software in their design workflows. As an engineer on the Digital Mission Engineering (DME) team, you will use engineering knowledge to provide technical post-sales support, find solutions to a wide variety of technical challenges, and channel customer feedback to internal leadership to improve Ansys products such as the Systems Tool Kit (STK), Orbit Determination Tool Kit (ODTK), Test and Evaluation Tool Kit (TETK), and more. You will be part of our positive, dynamic team of engineers based in Exton, PA, constantly striving to deliver the highest quality solutions to our customers. This role will provide countless opportunities to advance your knowledge, deepen your experience in a variety of engineering disciplines, and clearly see your impact on the success of our customers and Ansys. 

 

This position is an in-person role based in Exton, PA and it is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Deploy and exploit the full Ansys Technical Support Toolset to complement your own engineering expertise and knowledge of simulation to assist customers in solving their engineering problems and enabling their usage of Ansys products. 

  • Ensure high Customer Satisfaction and Customer Success that enable customers' usage/deployment/adoption of Ansys software 

  • Develop subject matter expertise and specialization on Ansys simulation products (specifically STK, ODTK, TETK, and/or DME Components) and applications 

  • Submit suggestions for product improvement, when needed. File defect reports and verify fixes adhering to defect reporting processes. May also participate in field testing of new releases to ensure that new features and workflows will address customer requirements 

  • On an as-needed basis, support Sales and Marketing by conducting demonstrations, webinars, online training, and other meetings to provide expertise-level support to other business functions including Sales and Marketing 

  • Participate in other strategic team and company initiatives, as needed 

 

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience 

  • Required education and degree type: BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields 

  • Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+0

  • Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software, or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages 

  • Coursework or work experience in astrodynamics, orbit determination, trajectory optimization, and/or attitude determination and control systems 

  • Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Matlab, C++, Java 

  • Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills. Fluent in writing and speaking English 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills. Possesses a sense of urgency 

  • Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen 

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills 

  • Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+2, MS+0

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10% of time 

  • Experience with the Digital Mission Engineering tools STK or ODTK  

  • Coursework or work experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) 

  • Background in one or more of the following domain areas: Astrodynamics, Aerodynamics, Communications, Radar, Geospatial Analysis, Spacecraft Operations, Space Situational Awareness
