Responsabilités:

  • Collaborer avec les départements connexes à fixer des objectifs communs et à optimiser le pipeline de création de personnages dans les outils DCC et dans l’engin Unreal. 
  • Créer des rigs complexes tout en maintenant un niveau élevé d’optimisation et de performance des personnages dans l’engin Unreal.
  • Intégrer les personnages dans l’engin Unreal en utilisant ses fonctionnalités avancées telles que la physique, RBF, les simulations de cheveux et de vêtements, ou toutes autres fonctionnalités pertinentes.  
  • Contribuer à et soutenir une pipeline de rigging de personnages et un ensemble d’outils de pointe dans l’industrie.
  • Créer des systèmes de déformation robustes pour les personnages et tout autres asset animés.  

Compétences, expérience et qualifications : 

Vous possédez un œil aiguisé pour le gameplay et savez utiliser vos talents techniques pour rendre le jeu le plus amusant possible. Vous cherchez toujours à comprendre comment les choses fonctionnent et êtes capables d’exprimer clairement vos connaissances. Vous êtes doté d’un esprit curieux, d’une soif d’apprendre et êtes à l’aise dans le rôle de mentor.

  • Expérience confirmée à travailler avec un moteur de jeu (Unreal, Unity ou autres moteurs maison AAA).
  • Bonne compréhension de l’animation et de ses effets sur le gameplay, sur la state machine et le behaviour trees. 
  • Bonne compréhension des principes d’animation dans le contexte du développement de jeux vidéo.
  • Connaissance approfondie de l’anatomie et de la kinésiologie humaines en relation avec les systèmes de déformation.  
  • Excellentes capacités à favoriser des processus de travail dans un environnement collaboratif et positif.
  • Maîtrise des outils utilisés pour l’animation, le skinning, le rigging et l’élaboration d’un pipeline dans Maya.
  • Maîtrise des outils et logiciels DCC et bonne compréhension des implications downstream.
  • Reconnaître l’importance de documenter le flux de travail et de partager ses connaissances avec les autres.
  • Expérience avec des pipelines FACS et Blendshape pour obtenir une large gamme d’expressions faciales.
  • Expérience dans l’optimisation des assets pour un moteur de jeu (par exemple, LOD, performance FPS,empreinte mémoire) est un atout.

Job Details:

  • Engage with stakeholders to align on objectives and develop scalable solutions that optimize content authoring workflows for characters in DCC and Unreal
  • Craft advanced character rigs, while upholding high standards in character performances and optimization for Unreal Engine.
  • Implement characters within Unreal Engine using its advanced features like physics, RBF, cloth and hair simulation, and other features needed.
  • Contribute to and support an industry-leading character rigging pipeline and toolset.
  • Create solid deformations systems for characters and any animated asset.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

You are that special someone with a keen gameplay eye and who loves to work their technical wizardry to make the game as fun as it can be. You work towards understanding the whys of how something works and being able to clearly communicate the findings to others. You are motivated to learn, seek new wisdom, and take pride in mentoring others.

  • Experience working with a game engine. (e.g. Unreal, Unity, or AAA proprietary game engines)
  • Good understanding of how animation impacts and follows gameplay.
  • Good understanding of animation principles and how they can be applied to video games.
  • A deep understanding of human kinesiology and anatomy, including the underlying muscles, bone structure, and how they contribute to animation fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and kinesiology, and understanding of how it relates to deformation rigs.
  • Experience with driving positive and effective collaborative processes in a team environment.
  • Understanding of how rigs affect animation state machines and behaviour trees.
  • Animation, skinning, rigging, and/or pipeline tools development experience in Maya.
  • Experience working with FACS based facial rig is a plus.
  • Experience with optimising(e.g. LOD, fps performance, memory footprint) assets for a game engine is a plus.
  • Create solid deformations systems for characters and any animated asset.
  • Have a knowledge of FACS and blendshape pipelines to achieve a wide range of facial expressions.
  • Proficient in DCC tools and software with a keen understanding of their downstream implications.
  • Understanding the importance of documenting workflows and sharing knowledge.
