Job Description

As an Application Specialist at Banyan Software, you will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise applications for Banyan Headquarters and its acquired software companies. This hands-on role focuses on making applications work seamlessly together, ensuring identity and access management, data consistency, and automation across the ecosystem. You will help enable Banyan’s cloud-first, zero-trust strategy, driving better adoption and productivity for end users, and act as a Tier 3 escalation point for application-related issues.
Good To Have:
  • Exposure to ITSM tools (SolarWinds or similar).
  • Familiarity with integration/automation tools (Okta Workflows, Power Automate, Workato).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred Certifications: Okta Administrator, Microsoft 365 Certified, ITIL Foundations, or equivalent.
Must Have:
  • Administer, configure, and support core SaaS platforms including Okta, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SolarWinds ITSM, Slack, Zoom, ChatGPT Enterprise, DealRoom, BambooHR, AWS, and Zeus.
  • Manage Okta as Banyan’s identity provider, including SSO, MFA, and lifecycle management.
  • Build and maintain automated provisioning/deprovisioning workflows across HRIS, ITSM, and other enterprise applications.
  • Design and maintain integrations across SaaS applications to ensure data consistency and single source of truth.
  • Leverage workflow automation tools (e.g., Okta Workflows, Power Automate, Workato) to reduce manual effort.
  • Act as Tier 3 escalation point for application-related issues, working with vendors as needed.
  • 7+ years of experience administering SaaS platforms in a global or multi-entity environment.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Okta (SSO, MFA, lifecycle management) and productivity suites (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
  • Experience with collaboration, HR, and productivity platforms: Slack, Zoom, ChatGPT Enterprise, BambooHR, DealRoom, AWS.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to balance detail with business context.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Overview

As an Application Specialist at Banyan Software, you will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the enterprise applications that power Banyan Headquarters and support our growing portfolio of acquired software companies. You will manage a broad SaaS portfolio including Okta, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SolarWinds ITSM, HRIS (TBD), Slack, Zoom, ChatGPT Enterprise, DealRoom, BambooHR, AWS, and Banyan’s internally developed applications (e.g., Zeus).

This is a hands-on role focused on making applications work seamlessly together—ensuring identity and access management, data consistency, and automation across the ecosystem. You will help enable Banyan’s cloud-first, zero-trust, connected-systems strategy while driving better adoption and productivity for end users.

Key Responsibilities

Application Management & Enablement

  • Administer, configure, and support core SaaS platforms including Okta, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, SolarWinds ITSM, Slack, Zoom, ChatGPT Enterprise, DealRoom, BambooHR, AWS, and Zeus.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure HRIS (BambooHR or similar) integrates effectively with Okta and other systems.
  • Support adoption of AI and collaboration platforms (ChatGPT Enterprise, Slack, Zoom), including license management, onboarding, and best practice enablement.
  • Document system configurations, workflows, and standard operating procedures.

Identity & Access Management (IAM)

  • Manage Okta as Banyan’s identity provider, including SSO, MFA, and lifecycle management.
  • Build and maintain automated provisioning/deprovisioning workflows across HRIS, ITSM, and other enterprise applications.
  • Partner with Security colleagues on IAM controls, while focusing your role on user experience and operational effectiveness.

Integration & Automation

  • Design and maintain integrations across SaaS applications to ensure data consistency and single source of truth.
  • Leverage workflow automation tools (e.g., Okta Workflows, Power Automate, Workato) to reduce manual effort for processes like onboarding, approvals, and reporting.
  • Create integration playbooks that can be extended to Operating Companies where valuable.

End-User Support & Experience

  • Act as Tier 3 escalation point for application-related issues, working with vendors as needed.
  • Train and mentor Help Desk staff on application troubleshooting and lifecycle tasks.
  • Develop self-service guides and knowledge base articles to improve user experience and reduce support volume.

Application Onboarding

  • Partner with the business to ensure that new applications align with Banyan’s enterprise architecture principles (cloud-first, zero-trust, connected-systems).
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Security to support vendor due diligence, contract evaluation, and integration requirements.
  • Assist in RFP construction and evaluation for new services and systems, ensuring usability, integration, and long-term maintainability are considered.
  • Define onboarding and support models for new applications, including documentation, IAM configuration, and training.

Collaboration & Growth

  • Work closely with the Head of IT and application owners to advance Banyan’s Global IT Strategy roadmap.
  • Provide guidance to Operating Companies on application integration, optional shared services, and best practices.
  • Mentor more junior team members

Qualifications
