This Art Director role at Cineplex Digital Media (CDM) focuses on delivering motion design, digital signage, and traditional creative. The position requires strong design expertise and leadership in guiding creative concepts from storyboard to execution, with a focus on dynamic, motion-based content for digital platforms. Candidates should possess visual storytelling, motion graphics skills, and team collaboration experience, pushing creative boundaries while aligning with client needs and brand standards. You will work on high-level strategic design, motion, and campaign ideation in financial and retail verticals, executing high-quality storyboards and motion graphics.

  • Advertising agency experience preferred.
Must Have:
  • Deliver motion design and art direction projects supported by a strong creative portfolio.
  • Apply advanced design skills and conceptual thinking to develop compelling creative solutions.
  • Leverage expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Suite.
  • Create illustrations and storyboards while applying solid principles of typography and layout.
  • Collaborate enthusiastically with other creatives, bringing passion and fresh ideas to the team.
  • Lead and contribute to strategic brainstorming, creative brief development, and execution of campaigns.
  • Incorporate constructive feedback from clients and the Creative Director into refined design outcomes.
  • Design work that is original yet aligned with brand style guides and identity standards.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, demonstrating strong verbal and active listening skills to support team collaboration.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising/Visual Communications, Graphic Design, Motion or related discipline preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in design/motion.
  • Demonstrates a strategic and tactical approach during meetings with clients and account teams.
  • Understands the target audience and adjusts art direction as required.
  • Contributes innovative ideas appropriate to the client’s marketing strategy that challenge the status quo.
  • Able to defend strengths of existing concepts while remaining open to input and further explorations.
  • Proactively anticipates and solves creative problems.
  • Presents concepts and creative work in an organized, professional, and effective style to clients.
  • Works on multiple projects simultaneously and delivers on client expectations and meets objectives consistently.
  • Understands how budgets and schedules are developed and how this links to business and performance.

What you will do:

This Art Director role sits within Cineplex Digital Media (CDM), that specializes in delivering motion design, digital signage, and traditional storyboard-driven creative for a wide range of clients. The position requires not only strong design expertise but also leadership in guiding creative concepts from storyboard through to execution, with a particular focus on dynamic, motion-based content for digital platforms. Candidates should bring a blend of visual storytelling, motion graphics skills, and team collaboration experience, with the ability to push creative boundaries while aligning with client needs and brand standards.

You’ll be working on high-level strategic design, motion and campaign ideation in the financial and retail verticals. Working closely with the Creative Director you’ll execute high quality storyboards and motion graphics that inspire the team to exceed expectations. Most importantly, you’re a sound creative thinker who efficiently manages time to juggle client needs for world-class brands.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising/Visual Communications, Graphic Design. Motion or related discipline preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in design/motion, advertising agency experience preferred
  • Demonstrates a strategic and tactical approach during meetings with clients and account teams, to develop effective campaigns reflecting the clients’ objectives
  • Understands the target audience and adjusts art direction as required
  • Contributes innovative ideas appropriate to the client’s marketing strategy that challenge the status quo
  • Able to defend strengths of existing concepts while remaining open to input and further explorations
  • Proactively anticipates and solves creative problems
  • Presents concepts and creative work in an organized, professional, and effective style to clients, properly preparing for all client presentations
  • Works on multiple projects simultaneously and delivers on client expectations and meets objectives consistently
