Meow Wolf is seeking an Associate Creative Producer for a project-based role, anticipated to last 12+ months. The Associate Creative Producer will support creative team leaders in developing and managing all aesthetic, show, and guest-related components of an exhibition throughout the project lifecycle. This role involves day-to-day management of the creative team, supervising workloads of staff, vendors, and artists, and strategizing for the successful completion of show elements. The Associate Creative Producer must articulate creative vision and motivate teams. Responsibilities include tracking creative deliverables, assisting with resource plans and schedules, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget, and managing creative consultants. The position also involves supporting strategy meetings and preparing presentation materials. This role offers exposure to confidential company information and contributes to creating immersive and interactive experiences.
Must have:

Project Based Role: This is a project based position with an anticipated duration of 12+ months.

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $78,720 to $88,560.  Compensation is based on location and experience.  

ASSOCIATE CREATIVE PRODUCER

Purpose: To support Creative team leaders on the development and management of all project-related aesthetic, show and guest-related components of an exhibition. 

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Executive Creative Producer and/or project-level Creative Producers, the Associate Creative Producer supports the Creative team leaders (Producer and Creative Director and Art Director) responsible for the development and management of all project-related aesthetic, show and guest-experience elements through the project life cycle. The Associate Creative Producer supports the day-to-day management of the creative team on assigned projects, assists with supervising the workloads of any assigned staff, vendors, collaborating artists, and consultants and helps to determine strategies to ensure the successful completion of all assigned show elements. The Associate Creative Producer must be proficient in guiding and articulating the concepts and experiences that define the project’s creative vision and to motivate the teams and individuals who are responsible for its development and implementation. This employee will have access to confidential information, including communications with the Board and strategic partners, Company-wide and departmental strategic plans and goals, financial information and projections.

You will help shepherd the execution of various exhibition elements, from conception to completion, with precision and diligence, thereby contributing to a spectacular experience for our guests. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly track and update the progress of creative deliverables making sure they are adhering to the scope, schedule, and budget defined by project leadership

  • Assist in development and management resource plans, estimates, and schedules for creative deliverables in collaboration with project leadership

  • Ensure all creative team members, including creative direction, narrative, graphics, concept art, collaborating artists, creative direction, art direction and consultants are executing all creative deliverables on schedule and within the agreed upon budget

  • Assist with the writing of scopes of work including exhibits and clearly defines deliverables for creative consultants then working with procurement to contract for their services

  • Follow up with creative consultants to ensure on-time delivery of deliverables

  • Support and participate in OCEO and C-Suite Strategy meetings on all matters relating to the company leadership, staffing, budgeting, Board review, and business strategy.

  • Prepare and maintain creative presentation and communication materials, including preparing confidential information for presentations to key stakeholders.

  • Maintain project phase creative documentation as applicable

  • Assist Executive Creative Producer in driving participant experience mapping process, with focus on diversity, access, and inclusion

Required Qualifications

  • You bring 2+ years of experience in creative enterprises as well as experience in Location Based/Themed Entertainment and experience shepherding high-budget multimedia projects from ideation to completion.

  • You are a proven leader who can pull together artistic and creative professionals from many walks of life and focus them on a set of shared goals and deliverables.

  • You come with excellent interpersonal skills, organizational as well as creative thinking.

  • You possess a general understanding of Location-Based / Themed Entertainment industries and their production pipelines

  • You come with a knowledge of creative process and deliverables

  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills that can successfully work across multiple departments and divisions to advance our artistic and storytelling initiatives in new and exciting ways.

  • You must be steadfast and strategic as they work within Meow Wolf’s highly ambitious, collaborative model.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.  

Work Environment: 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners. This position also works in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/ or enclosed spaces.  This role will also move into an on site construction environment for the final year of the project installation phase. 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical ability to walk, stand, take stairs/slides/elevators, and navigate the elements during the day and night. Employee may be required to remain in a sitting or standing position for prolonged periods, and repeat motions that may  include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. 

The employee will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Supervisor Responsibilities:

This position does not require supervisory responsibility.

Travel:

Travel is required for this position and varies by phase. This may include business trips and temporary assignments as necessary. During the design phases, this position will require some business travel (10%-25%). During the production and installation phases, this position will require extensive travel (30%+).
