Treyarch, the studio behind the Call of Duty: Black Ops franchise, is seeking an Associate Director, Graphics Engineering to join their Core Engine Team. The role involves guiding an LA-based graphics team to deliver AAA visuals at 60+hz, with direct coding, debugging, and optimization of shipping features. Responsibilities include developing cutting-edge rendering technology, collaborating with other disciplines on artistic and performance goals, analyzing, improving, and optimizing existing graphics and engine technology, and leading a team of 2-3 engineers. Candidates should be fluent in modern C++ and multi-threaded programming, possess strong low-level CPU/GPU operations knowledge, and have experience mentoring or leading engineers.
Must have:
  • 12+ years experience in video games industry as graphics engineer

Your Mission

Treyarch, the studio behind the best-selling Call of Duty: Black Ops franchise, is looking for a Associate Director, Graphics Engineering to join our Core Engine Team. As a Associate Director, Graphics Engineering, you will work with senior leadership to guide an LA based graphics team delivering AAA visuals at 60+hz. In this role you will directly code, debug and optimize shipping features with a small team.

Onsite:

This role is an onsite work position, and the home studio for this role is in Los Angeles, CA.

What you bring to the table

The video game industry and therefore our business is fast-paced and will continue to evolve. As such, the duties and responsibilities of this role may be changed as directed by the Company at any time to promote and support our business and relationships with industry partners. Therefore, this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Be part of the Core Engine Team developing cutting edge rendering technology for our future games
  • Work with other disciplines to achieve the game’s artistic and performance goals
  • Analyze, improve, optimize, and debug existing graphics and engine technology and tools
  • Lead a team of 2 to 3 engineers to accomplish your goals
  • Write and maintain efficient, readable, and reliable code

Minimum Requirements

Experience 

  • 12+ years of experience in the video games industry working as a graphics engineer
  • Experience with current gen console hardware
  • Experience mentoring and/or leading other engineers
     

Knowledge & Skills 

  • Strong understanding of low-level CPU/GPU operations and debugging tools
  • Fluent in modern C++ and multi-threaded programming
  • The ability to communicate effectively with non-technical team members
     

Key Attributes

Extra Points 

Experience
