Job Summary

Job Description

Responsible for the efficient operation of crystal growth processes, including source synthesis, seed preparation, bulk crystal growth, and post-growth treatment. This role involves assisting the process engineer with creating and maintaining Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts for critical crystal growth processes and implementing new processes and technologies from the engineering team into manufacturing. The Associate Engineer will collaborate with the R&D team on projects related to Silicon Carbide crystal development and manufacturing, and work with supply chain and warehouse to manage critical inventory levels and monitor consumption rates. The position also requires performing basic preventive maintenance on tools and coordinating major preventive maintenance with vendors.
Must have:
  • High school degree with minimum 5 years of working experience
  • 3 to 7 years of relevant manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people
  • Experience with problem analysis and resolution
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement
  • Hands-on experience in operating furnaces
  • Hands-on experience in power tools
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work in a global team environment
  • Set high standards of ethics and professionalism
  • Conform to U.S. Government export regulations (ITAR)
Good to have:
  • Associate or bachelor’s degrees
  • Experience with power supplies, vacuum systems and infrastructure equipment
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in maintenance of furnaces and laboratory instruments

Basic Function of the Job

Responsible for efficient operation of crystal growth processes, including source synthesis, seed preparation, bulk crystal growth, post growth treatment, and any other related processes. Help process engineer to create and maintains SPC charts for critical crystal growth processes. Help the implementation of processes and technology from engineering team to crystal growth manufacturing. Work with the R&D team of engineers and technicians on projects and specific tasks related to the development and manufacturing of Silicon Carbide crystals. Work with supply chain and warehouse to maintain critical inventory counts for manufacturing and monitor consumption rates for critical parts. Capable of doing basic PM for tools, and work with vendors to do major PM.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • High school degree with minimum 5 years of working experience
  • Associate or bachelor’s degrees is a strong plus.

Experience:

  • 3 to 7 years of relevant manufacturing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others
  • Experience with problem analysis and resolution at the functional level
  • Proven track record of continuous improvement

Special Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in the operation of furnaces, power supplies, vacuum systems and infrastructure equipment.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in maintenance of furnaces and associated laboratory instruments and facilities.
  • Hands-on experience in power tools
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and issues in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work with employees in a multi-cultural, global team environment
  • Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism, leadership and competency
