Provide counsel to senior leadership on all matters pertaining to employment law and policy, as well as workplace compliance. Identify and analyze legal issues, draft key documents, present clear recommendations to top management, and assure legal compliance. Lead all litigation matters for the company, both with respect to strategy and procedural matters. This role involves leading and mentoring a high-performing team, mitigating risks, crafting employment documents, and partnering with senior leadership on employee relations.
Must have:
  • JD from ABA-accredited law school and current bar membership in good standing
  • In-house experience with a technology company
  • Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Sound business judgment; ability to make reasoned recommendations
  • Self-starter with strong business sense
  • Great teammate, savvy at balancing competing projects
  • Minimum of 10 years of related or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading people and teams

Job Description:

Provide counsel to senior leadership on all matters pertaining to employment law and policy, as well as workplace compliance. Identify and analyze legal issues, draft key documents, present clear recommendations to top management, and assure legal compliance. Lead all litigation matters for the company, both with respect to strategy and procedural matters.

This position is located at our corporate headquarters located at Westlake, TX, with a Tuesday-Thursday in-office requirement.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and legal issues while providing consultative advice and practical solutions
  • Take the lead in crafting, revising, and implementing employment documents, policies and processes globally
  • Lead employment, litigation, and compliance-related due diligence for transactions, including reviewing employee-related agreements, option award agreements and other documents as needed
  • Partner with senior leadership on employee relations matters including workplace investigations, discipline and performance, leaves of absence, accommodations, and workplace safety, as well as development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Lead pre-litigation and litigation efforts, including research and writing, evidence-gathering, legal hold, discovery, litigation management, and strategy

Experience you’ll bring:

  • JD from ABA-accredited law school and current bar membership in good standing
  • In-house experience with a technology company
  • Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills within and across departments and externally
  • Sound business judgment; ability to clearly make reasoned recommendations; ability to cross think and determine who should be kept informed
  • Self-starter with strong business sense who can navigate different client groups
  • Great teammate, savvy at balancing competing projects

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of related or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading people and teams, with a track record of developing others; typically not a first-time leadership role, though strong candidates with substantial informal or team lead experience will also be considered.
  • Hybrid Work Model: This role follows a hybrid schedule, with on-site work at our Westlake/Dallas, TX office Tuesday through Thursday and remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. This approach helps us collaborate more effectively, make decisions more quickly, and build a stronger culture, while still providing flexibility.

Physical Requirements:

Pay Transparency:

The annual US base salary range for this role is $177,800 - $246,900 USD. Actual compensation will depend on location, skills, experience, and other factors. Additional benefits and bonuses may apply.
