Job Description

The Central Engineering group at Marvell seeks an Automation Developer Engineer (Python, C) to join their CE Packaging team in Bucharest. This role involves advancing Marvell's technology leadership by providing engineering support, maintaining, developing, and innovating execution flows for new technologies. Key responsibilities include planning, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining new packaging-related flows and automations, leading projects, conducting code reviews, and collaborating with EDA tool vendors to improve usability.
Must have:
  • Plan, develop, test, deploy and maintain new packaging related flows and automations.
  • Lead smaller projects or modules, guiding junior developers and ensuring adherence to project timelines and coding standards.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews, enforcing best practices and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code across the team.
  • Review code and architecture decisions, ensuring the team follows high-quality engineering standards.
  • Work with internal customers and EDA tool vendors to evaluate new tools, seek bugs, and improve usability.
  • Automate remote-grid scheduler, such as SunGrid and LSF.
  • Collaborate with a geographically dispersed team to ensure effective communication and project success.
  • Provide support for the Packaging group in developing advanced packaging technologies.
  • Evaluate and deploy new releases for package CAD tools.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Track record of new software product introduction from concept, through development and production.

The Central Engineering group mission is to advance Marvell's technology leadership and engineering excellence by delivering industry-leading IP and design services. As part of the CE Packaging group you are expected to provide engineering support to all other BU's as needed, as well as maintain, develop and innovate in our execution flows as new technologies emerge.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Package CAD Engineer to join our team in Bucharest.

What You Can Expect

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in Python automation development (backend and frontend);
  • Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming; Data processing with Python, usage of Pandas, Polars, virtual environments; Knowledge of algorithms and data structures; application & services architectures;
  • Proficiency in scripting skills (Python, Bash, C, PowerShell, Perl - optional);
  • Familiarity with physical design EDA tools for PCB/Package design (such as Cadence, Ansys, Keysight, Mentor Graphics Calibre, Siemens, Synopsys, etc.)
  • Experience (good understanding) with proprietary EDA development languages such as SKILL (Cadence), AEL (Keysight), proprietary Python libraries of EDA tools vendors, IronPython;
  • Experience Linux & Windows operation and administration
  • Grid/Middleware: Very good understanding of (cluster computation, cluster schedulers, and resource allocation, such as SunGrid & LSF);
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly GitHub and Git;
  • Basic knowledge of Hardware (PCB /Package) Design flows and methodologies;
  • Basic knowledge of Signal & Power Integrity;
  • Experience with advanced packaging designs (e.g., 2.5D CoWoS-R and CoWoS-L packaging) is a plus;
  • Track record of new software product introduction from concept, through development and production;
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good English knowledge both verbal and written.
