About the Position

To expand our Controlling Team at one of our main German locations in Munich, Berlin or Heidelberg of Springer Medizin Verlag GmbH, we are looking for a Business Controller (gn*) immediately.

This position is located in our Berlin office with a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities:

• Central contact person for the area of responsibility to be managed
• Sparring partner for management by supporting them in operational business
• Active participation in monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements including comments
• Preparation of monthly reports, including budget/actual comparisons and ad hoc analyses
• Collection and analysis of relevant key figures for the area of responsibility
• Creation of forecast, budget and medium-term planning
• Optimization of structures, processes and methods within controlling
• Active participation in the further development of the Anaplan planning tool
• Interface to other company and functional areas such as Shared Services
• Occasional travel to maintain personal exchange with business partners and team members

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

• Completed business administration degree with a focus on finance / controlling
• Several years of professional experience in accounting / controlling
• Sound knowledge in cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, business partnering
• Very good knowledge of SAP S4 Hana FI/CO
• Proficient in MS Office/ Teams; experience with Anaplan and HFM Oracle desirable
• Analytical thinking, quick comprehension, high affinity for numbers
• Strong communication skills and confident demeanor when dealing with management
• Strong team orientation
• Independent and structured way of working
• High quality awareness, adherence to deadlines and resilience during peak periods
• Willingness to learn and curiosity
• Good English skills
