Job Summary:
Tasks include, but are not limited to, the issue and receipt of all WES equipment, maintaining a record of all equipment held, operating a computer to maintain inventory, records and schedules, and able to work with both customer tools (Defence Resource Management Information System) and internal tools (SAP) as necessary. When not conducting your primary functions, you may be called upon to assist by working as an Observer Analyst (OA) in order to analyze training and produce After Action Review (AAR) products or to assist the Technical Systems Technician (TST) in resolving issues As the logistical member for the site, you will be responsible for the receipt, storage and movement of any UOTS equipment for your site as well as the primary coordinator for the issue of UOTS equipment to the training audience. All required training will be provided in order to accomplish the assigned tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Well organized and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Use the DRMIS computer system for issue and receipt of UOTS equipment.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
- Shipping and Receiving both domestically and international.
- Issue and receipt of equipment to customers.
- Identify and report on required consumable items and spare parts to support repairs of equipment.
- Maintain and verify all inventories and records.
- Maintain UOTS areas focusing on efficiency and safety and cleanliness.
- Operate material handling equipment (MHE).
- Ability to operate and use specialized software programs.
- Inspect items for damage.
- Perform other duties as required, such as assisting an OA or TST during an exercise.
- Shift work and overtime beyond 40 hours per week required during exercise periods.
- Require a 3-month probationary period
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School degree or equivalent with 2-4 years experience working in a logistical / warehouse environment.
- Working knowledge of military operations, training and procedures.
- Very familiar and comfortable using computers and MS office products, to include spreadsheets.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proof of the legal right to work in Canada and secret security clearance from the Canadian Government.
- Requires mental alertness and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and able to work in tight spaces.
- Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time and to climb stairs.
- May be required to travel periodically, both nationally and internationally.
- Preferred five years military experience with a rank of MCpl – Capt, logistics / Signals background, and bilingual in English/French.
