The Legal Advisor role is responsible for drafting and reviewing commercial and similar contracts for all products offered by the organization, providing advice to internal clients on contractual matters and support in contract negotiations with clients. Additionally, they are responsible for the corporate affairs of the organization in Chile. They directly handle low and medium complexity matters independently and high complexity matters under the supervision of the Legal Manager of Chile. They are also responsible for managing legal matters related to Maersk's operations in Bolivia.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and review contracts and various contractual documents with clients to ensure that contractual conditions safeguard the company's interests, within legal parameters and in coordination with the areas involved and responsible for said contracts.
- Review and identify the company's legal risks within the framework of commercial contracts, propose preventive and corrective measures to the different areas and/or responsible parties involved.
- Review legal aspects of public and private tender bases, including contractual terms.
- Administration of the power of attorney matrix to maintain adequate control of the people who have powers granted by the company.
- Updating corporate books.
- Support in functions assigned by the immediate superior and in area projects.
Bolivia
- Manage the review of client and supplier contracts.
- Coordinate with external lawyers for the adequate defense of judicial processes and administrative procedures.
- Review and identify the company's legal risks, discuss measures to be adopted with the Direct Manager, and agree on corrective actions with the different areas and/or responsible parties involved.
- Interact and coordinate with external lawyers according to the parameters established with the Direct Manager. Make appropriate and efficient use of external legal services.
- Provide advice to all areas of the companies within the scope on legal matters of any specialization, using, if necessary, the support of external legal advisors and/or specialized areas within the Maersk group.
- Review of legal expenses.
- Administration of the power of attorney matrix to maintain adequate control of the people who have powers granted by the company.
- Updating corporate books.
Requirements:
- Law professional.
- 5 years of experience as a lawyer in top-tier companies or firms, with extensive experience in contract review, ideally related to logistics or transportation. Desirable experience working in logistics or multinational companies.
- Negotiation experience.
