The Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing local compliance strategies, and coordinating with the Chief Compliance Officer of the holding company and other local payment companies to align compliance practices. 

Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a robust compliance program tailored to the regulatory requirements and industry standards in the payment sector in Hong Kong.
    • Coordinate with the Chief Compliance Officer of the holding company and other local payment companies to align compliance practices, share best practices, and ensure consistency in compliance efforts.
    • Monitor and analyze regulatory developments, changes in local laws, guidelines, and industry trends impacting the payment industry in Hong Kong, and implement necessary measures to maintain compliance.
    • Conduct regular compliance assessments, audits, and reviews to identify risks, gaps, and non-compliance issues, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement corrective actions and enhance compliance controls.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, industry associations, and external partners on compliance matters, inspections, inquiries, and reporting obligations in Hong Kong.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of local compliance strategies, policies, and procedures to align with the global compliance framework and standards set by the holding company.
    • Support the Chief Compliance Officer in overseeing compliance initiatives, monitoring compliance metrics, and reporting compliance-related information to senior management and regulators.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, risk management, operations, technology, and business units, to ensure a holistic approach to compliance, risk mitigation, and governance.
    • Stay updated on emerging compliance trends, regulatory developments, and industry challenges in the payment sector in Hong Kong to anticipate risks and enhance compliance strategies.
    • Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, filings, disclosures, and certifications in compliance with local requirements and deadlines.

Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business, or a related field; advanced certifications in compliance (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional - CCEP) are preferred.
    • Having experience in applying for MSO license.
    • Previous experience in compliance roles within the payment industry, financial services, or related sectors in Hong Kong, with a solid understanding of local regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
    • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards, best practices, and emerging trends in compliance, including AML, KYC, and other relevant regulations in the payment sector in Hong Kong.
    • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive compliance initiatives.
    • Proven integrity, ethics, and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information, demonstrating a commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance and governance.
