Job responsibilities:

  • Act as product counsel for global or overseas-market launched products, including providing legal assistance for a wide range of legal, compliance and commercial matters in the areas of technology licensing.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate license agreements, professional services agreements, and other general commercial agreements.
  • Collaborate with external counsel and other Tencent attorneys based around the world, including in mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, EU, and the US, to provide compliance and regulatory analysis and advice for international business initiatives.
  • Identify potential legal issues and pitfalls and devise creative solutions for business teams to efficiently mitigate compliance risks.

Requirements:

Key expectations and criteria:

  • You graduated or will graduate in 2024 or 2025, with strong academic credentials and a master or doctoral degree from a prestigious law school. Undergraduate degree in engineering, computer science or similar subject is additionally preferred.
  • You have work or internship experience in large law firms or international enterprise, focus on transaction and compliance is preferred.  Work experience in the areas of technology, online platforms, software developers is preferred.
  • You have sound business judgement and the ability to deliver practical, commercially friendly and comprehensive advice.
  • You have excellent communication skills and can establish strong working relationships with business stakeholders.
  • You have the ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment and can work independently to manage day-to-day compliance work and handle the end-to-end transaction process from initial contract review through to negotiations and execution.
  • You have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-pace setting and ever-evolving technology industry.
  • You are a fast learner and passionate about the latest developments in cutting-edge technology matters.
  • You have a good command of Mandarin Chinese and English (both written and oral) as a working language.
  • You are based in Singapore or Hong Kong.
