Job Summary
WeChat, with over 1.2 billion users worldwide, is transforming the mobile landscape by connecting people, services, and businesses. Weixin Pay (WeChat Pay in overseas markets) is a mobile payment solution introduced in 2013, enabling fast, convenient, and secure transactions. In Japan, the WeChat Pay team is dedicated to expanding its services across the market. The Senior Area Manager will primarily focus on improving effective coverage and market share for WeChat Pay merchants in Japan. This involves understanding the Japanese business landscape, identifying market opportunities, developing and executing regional expansion plans by integrating WeChat and Tencent resources, and managing service providers and partners to ensure healthy development of WeChat Pay in the region.
Must Have
- Business level or higher in Chinese and Japanese
- Excellent business development and negotiation skills
- 3+ years of relevant work experience
- Understanding of Japanese market and business culture
- Ability to gain clear market insights and convert them into execution strategies
- Practical experience in payment or related industries
- Familiarity with payment industry operating models
- Experience related to merchant or channel expansion

Job Description
1. The main goal is to improve the effective coverage and market share of WeChat payment merchants in Japan.
2. Based on a complete understanding of Japan's business models, merchants, and development channels, discover market opportunities, integrate WeChat and Tencent resources, formulate regional expansion plans, and effectively implement execution.
3. Manage and develop business with regional service providers and partners to achieve the healthy development of WeChat Pay in Japan.
Who We Look For
Application Requirements
1. Business level or higher in Chinese and Japanese, excellent business development and negotiation skills, and more than 3 years of relevant work experience.
2. Understanding of the Japanese market and business culture, able to gain clear and accurate insights into the market, and convert them into actual execution strategies.
3. Practical experience in the payment or related industries, familiar with the operating models of the payment industry, and experience related to merchant or channel expansion.
4. Strong learning ability, strong cross-cultural communication skills, and stress resistance.

Probation Period & Initial Contract Period
Probation period: 3 months (no change in working conditions)
Salary
Annual salary: Negotiable
- Consideration will be given to experience, skills, etc., and preferential treatment will be given according to company regulations.
- Includes 35 hours of fixed overtime pay per month. Overtime exceeding this will be paid separately.
Working Hours & Holidays
- Working hours 09:30 ~ 18:30 Flex-time system (no core time)
- Break time 60 minutes
- Complete two-day weekend (Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays)
- Annual paid leave: In the first year of employment, prorated according to the month of joining. Up to 22 days based on years of service.
