Job Description

The Cyber Security Engineer will be part of the Compliance Improvement Team, working to maintain compliance with regulatory frameworks such as PCI DSS, SOC, and SOX. Responsibilities include participating in assessments, identifying process improvements, and automating tasks related to security compliance. This role involves working with internal and external stakeholders, analyzing processes, and developing solutions to streamline assessment efforts. The engineer will also contribute to coding and developing in-house application projects for security compliance automation, ensuring accurate metrics and reporting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Focus in Data Analytics or general scripting skills in languages like R, Python, or Golang

Cyber Security Engineer

The Compliance Improvement Team improves Sabre’s product and operational teams’ ability to maintain compliance with various regulatory frameworks, including PCI DSS, SOC, SOX and others. Through working closely with the internal stakeholders and external assessment teams, the compliance improvement team identifies opportunities for process improvement, automation and the efficient reuse of collected evidence to satisfy multiple assessments.  Our vision is to reduce audit toil through coordination and streamlining of assessments.

As a Cyber Security Compliance Analyst, you are an individual contributor on a team of audit and compliance professionals who perform assessments in a complex technology environment. This role is based in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, and reports to the Principal Compliance Team leader.

As a Compliance Improvement Team Member, you can expect to work on the following activities:

30% - Compliance Assessments

  • Actively participate in SOC and PCI assessments to increase familiarity with the processes and tools currently in use at Sabre.

  • Take on assignments and coordinate tasks with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Identify candidates for potential process improvement.

30% - Security Framework Consolidation, Process Analysis

  • Working with the Compliance Improvement Team, develop a master list of requirements that span current and aspirational future assessment frameworks.

  • Analyze and brainstorm ways to improve Sabre’s capabilities to collect needed information to support assessment needs.

40% - Process Improvement and Automation

  • Fix existing processes or design new processes and tools to facilitate the timely collection and reuse of collected artifacts.

  • Code and develop in-house application projects on security compliance automation efforts

  • Special projects and deliverables, as identified by the PCI, SOC and Compliance Improvement team.

  • Effectively collaborate with 3rd party resources or vendors to accomplish objectives

  • Support and provide accurate and factual metrics & reporting to the team lead, director, and security control owners

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Recent or soon-to-be bachelor’s degree graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

  • The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, critical thinker, who is a continuous learner and has the following preferred general knowledge and skills

  • Familiarity with process analysis gap assessments

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Focus in Data Analytics or general scripting skills in the following languages:

  • R

  • Python

  • Golang
