Senior Front-End (React JS) Software Engineer

The Retail Studio development team is seeking a talented senior Software Engineer. This position will be part of a large, distributed and highly collaborative team dedicated to implementing, enhancing, and supporting the Retailing suite of applications for Sabre Hospitality Solutions.  This person will report to the Retailing Software Engineering Manager dedicated to teams’ success and developers' career growth.

Role and Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to analyze, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable cloud applications 

• Plan, analyze, design, and develop complex software solutions and enhancements to existing products 

• Implement automated unit tests 

• Review code and mentor junior developers 

• Contribute to team's sprint goals and release commitment and success 

• Work with the product owner and user experience designer to understand requirements 

• Recommend improvements to process and application as part of continuous improvement culture  

• Good problem solving and analytical skills 

 
Required Skills: 

• Minimum 5 years of software development experience  

• Degree in Computer Science  

• Advanced programming and design skills, with deep knowledge of frontend development 

• Solid UI development experience using React, including React Testing Library, as well as the primary front-end technologies: HTML, JavaScript, and CSS 

• Knowledge of front-end best practices, accessibility, and proper unit testing 

• Knowledge of responsive and mobile-first design principles 

• Experience with web services and cloud development 

• Ability to come up to speed quickly on complex existing software applications 

• Proven experience in fast-paced Agile environment, with a strong track record of delivering quality software under tight timelines 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English 

Nice to Have Skills: 

• Experience with GIT 

• Experience working with SASS, Redux, Storybook 

• Strong grasp of cloud technologies, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and related services 

• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
