The Data Integration Lead is a key member of the WebMD Ignite delivery team, responsible for implementing and supporting data integrations for the Ignite Growth Platform (IGP), Data-as-a-Service (DaaS), and Pulse offerings. This client-facing role ensures timely, high-quality data solution configuration and integration, driving client satisfaction and revenue. As a subject matter expert, this role partners with clients and internal teams to enable seamless data exchange between EHRs, client systems, and Ignite’s platforms.
Must have:
  • Lead configuration and delivery of complex data integrations with client EHR, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • Implement APIs, event-driven integrations, and batch processes.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on data integration for internal and client projects.
  • Manage and optimize ETL/ELT processes for data quality and availability.
  • Develop and maintain integration documentation and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data integration issues quickly.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering on data integration strategy.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior team members.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data integration, ETL development, or data engineering, preferably in healthcare IT.
  • Hands-on experience with HL7, FHIR, APIs, and healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data mapping, and ETL tools/processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple client-facing projects simultaneously.
  • Commitment to handling PHI/PII data securely and in compliance with HIPAA.
Good to have:
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related data integration tools.
  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing platforms.
  • Prior experience in healthcare technology, SaaS, or data-as-a-service environment.

About the Role:

This client-facing role ensures timely, high-quality data solution configuration and integration, driving client satisfaction and directly impacting revenue recognition.

As a subject matter expert, the Data Integration Lead partners with clients, internal stakeholders, and technical teams to enable seamless data exchange between electronic health records (EHRs), client systems, and Ignite’s platforms. This role is essential to sustaining delivery capacity, protecting revenue streams, and maintaining our competitive edge in client experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the configuration and delivery of complex data integrations with client EHR while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other data security standards.
  • Implement APIs, event-driven integrations, and batch processes to support business and customer needs.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on data integration for internal stakeholders and client projects.
  • Manage and optimize ETL/ELT processes, ensuring high data quality, consistency, and availability.
  • Develop and maintain integration documentation, best practices, and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data integration issues quickly while maintaining proactive communication with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape data integration strategy, ensuring delivery capabilities evolve with product innovation and client demands.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering their growth and strengthening team capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in data integration, ETL development, or data engineering, preferably in a healthcare or health IT environment.
  • Hands-on experience with HL7, FHIR, APIs, and other healthcare interoperability standards.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data mapping, and ETL tools/processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client-facing projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and timely delivery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly terms.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with experience working directly with clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to handling PHI/PII data securely and in compliance with HIPAA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related data integration tools.
  • Familiarity with CRM and marketing platforms.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare technology, SaaS, or data-as-a-service environment.
