Medscape, a division of WebMD, develops and hosts physician portals and mobile applications, enabling healthcare professionals to access clinical references and education. The Associate Medical Editor reviews digital promotional materials for physicians, ensuring accuracy and integrity of client campaigns. This role involves overseeing projects from manuscript to final HTML, applying client style, regional regulations, and internal best practices, while demonstrating detail-orientation and collaborative qualities.
Good To Have:
  • Editorial experience, preferably in a medical communications agency, pharmaceutical company, or pharmaceutical advertising agency, and preferably web-based
  • Bilingual proficiency (reading and writing in a professional medical communications capacity) in German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic
  • Knowledge of ABPI and EMA regulations
Must Have:
  • 1 to 2 years of editorial experience
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Digital editing skills (Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace)
  • Fluency in English
  • Copyedit and proofread web-based promotional materials
  • Diligent attention to detail when checking for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and adherence to pharma brand style/editorial guidelines
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced and evolving environment and under tight deadlines
  • Collaborate effectively with Medical Writers, Designers, Web Developers, Project Managers, and Account Managers
  • Work independently and prioritise workload

POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Medical Editor reviews digital promotional materials targeting physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the accuracy and integrity of client campaigns. They oversee projects from initial manuscript through to final HTML. A successful Associate Medical Editor will be detail-oriented, demonstrate collaborative qualities, and apply client style, regional regulations, and internal best practices to each piece.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 to 2 years of editorial experience, preferably in a medical communications agency, pharmaceutical company, or pharmaceutical advertising agency, and preferably web-based
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Digital editing skills (Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Copyedit and proofread web-based promotional materials (e.g. emails, web pages, banners, rich media, learning modules) to ensure accuracy and consistency of style, copy, graphics, design and layout
  • Diligent attention to detail when checking for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and adherence to pharma brand style/editorial guidelines
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced and evolving environment and under tight deadlines
  • Collaborate effectively with Medical Writers, Designers, Web Developers, Project Managers, and Account Managers to ensure accurate and on-schedule projects
  • Work independently and prioritise workload
  • Assist senior staff on accounts as needed
