Job Description

The Data Platforms Governance Lead role is crucial for supporting the leadership team in making data-driven decisions and fostering an engaging work environment for over 1500 people. The role involves driving decision-making processes in forums, ensuring commitments are met, and coordinating Data Platforms' actions across various LSEG forums. This includes being the focal point for communication, building working communities, and making the Data Platforms a great place to work. The candidate will be responsible for managing governance meetings, ensuring commitments are fulfilled, managing the team's backlog, and supporting the development of key performance scorecards. The role also involves enacting a communication and engagement strategy and developing a feedback loop mechanism to improve the overall performance.

ROLE PROFILE:

Data Platforms is an exciting collective of teams spanning product and engineering teams. The Data Platforms Governance Lead role is pivotal in supporting our leadership team make effective, data driven decisions, and building an engaging working environment for Data Platform's 1500+ people.

 

 

ROLE SUMMARY:

Drive decision making processes and forums for Data Platforms, enabling DP leadership to make informed, balanced decisions based on good data, and ensuring commitments are kept

 

Capture and drive actions, decisions, and coordinate Data Platforms' response to its commitments in various LSEG forums.

 

Be the focal point for engagement, ensuring Data Platforms gives high quality, regular communications, builds meaningful working communities, and make Data Platforms a fantastic place to work.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Drive critical governance meetings (e.g. OpCo, Weekly Operations Meetings, etc.) ensuring they are lean, focused, and have clear and communicated decisions

Ensure Data Platforms meets its commitments to all governance meetings and processes, maintaining an action tracker and meeting lookahead that enables Data Platforms leadership to keep promises

Manage the backlog for the Data Platforms Portfolio & Business Management team, ensuring the team stays on track with their prioritised

Support the definition and documentation of key performance score cards for Data Platform leaders and the department as a whole to ensure that we are working towards achieving a balanced set of strategic priorities

Enact Data Platforms' communication and engagement strategy, ensuring we hold regular, high quality events (e.g. townhalls), and ensure we follow up with meaningful initiatives in response to the annual Engage survey results

Supervise and support the building of professional communities that can drive improvements and high performance in specific or SME specialisms

Develop and manage a feedback loop mechanism so that Data Platforms people can raise honest feedback or opportunities to improve, and they trust they will get an honest answer and track progress.
