Job Description

The Data Scientist will work on building self-optimizing pricing products that adjust fares based on market conditions to achieve goals. They will conduct exploratory data analysis, build scalable dynamic pricing models, establish pipelines for automation, create dashboards for monitoring, collaborate with Engineering teams for deployment, and create technical documents. This role involves responsibilities like creating efficient marketplaces, working with the Pricing Data Science team, and reporting to the Head of Data Science (Pricing).

Must have:

Bachelor's or Master's in relevant field (CS, OR, Math, etc.)
Solid background in Operation Research, Reinforcement Learning, Deep Learning, Causal Inference.
1 year of working experience in tech companies or academic institutions.
Proficient in Python, Tensorflow/Pytorch, SQL, and Spark.
Develop data processing ETL pipelines.
Familiar with Version Control Systems (git, git-flow).

The Pricing Data Science team creates efficient marketplaces by determining an optimal price that is both sustainable and loved by our partners and consumers.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for a Data Scientist to build self-optimizing pricing products that can automatically adjust booking/order fares in response to the dynamic market conditions to achieve predetermined goals. You will report into the Head of Data Science (Pricing) and is based onsite in Beijing.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

You will conduct exploratory data analysis to gain insights and harness the insights to build scalable dynamic pricing ML/OR models.
You will establish pipelines to automate the model parameter tuning and model serving in a scalable way.
You will build dashboards to monitor the health of our DS solutions. This will involve tracking performance, identifying issues, and implementing improvements.
You will collaborate with Engineering teams to deploy machine learning, optimisation models in a production environment. This will involve ensuring the smooth integration of these models into our pricing systems.
You will create technical documents outlining the methodologies and findings of your work. You will also present solutions to non-technical stakeholders in a clear, non-technical manner.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

You hold a Bachelor or Master Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Software Engineering.
You have solid background in at least two of the following domains: Operation Research, Reinforcement Learning, Deep Learning, Causal Inference.
You have 1 years of working experience in tech companies or academic institutions.
You are proficient in Python, Tensorflow/Pytorch, SQL, and Spark.
You can develop data processing ETL pipelines to support data analysis, model training, and model serving tasks.
You are familiar with Version Control Systems such as git, git-flow, and understand the full software development life-cycle.
