Location: Liverpool Hybrid (Monday and Tuesday in studio)
As the Design Production Manager you will work closely with the Creative Director and the wider Studio Management team.
You will work alongside the design leadership group to manage the development of the Design department, including implementation of best processes, strategy, mentorship, training and the overall structure.
You will have cross project responsibilities, managing design resource and working on strategies to have the best candidate available for the project role. Checking onboarding is smooth and if necessary any additional training or role requirements are met.
Following this you will need to monitor the designers progress with regular meetings, and ensure that their needs are being met. You will also be required to communicate their progress and gather feedback from the wider development team.
Our design team is currently just over 40 people and you will be helping with developing, retaining and recruiting team members.
Responsibilities:
To lead design teams and collaborate closely with other disciplines in order to define project goals, requirements and agree priorities of work.
Work closely with the Creative Director, game directors, department leads and studio management.
Mentoring, supporting and growing the design team
Coach and help grow the designers through regular catch-ups, 1-2-1’s, training opportunities and more
Document, track and communicate project status and scheduling changes with key members of the team and adapt the schedules where necessary.
Define and understand the risks during concept, and manage them through the features development.
Advocate for the design team at a higher company level to ensure the team can work sustainably.
Working closely with our People team to hire, develop and retain members of the Design team.
Requirements
Experience of agile project management processes.
Experience in a Production role
Experience as a Senior/Lead Game Designer or similar role in a games industry environment
Released titles as a Game Designer or Producer
Excellent people and mentoring skills
Proactive attitude and ability to take ownership of own area

Important:
The interview process for the Design Manager role is made up of 2 stages:
First interview (45 – 60 minutes) – An interview to discuss your experience and working history relating to the position with our Creative Director. In return, we will provide a full overview of the role, life at the studio as well as answer any questions you may have.
Final interview (30 minutes) – A final Interview with our Studio Head and Studio Production Director. This will be a chance for you to get to know the Senior Management team and all the things that make Lucid, Lucid! You will have a lot of opportunities to ask any questions about the studio and Culture.
