Sony Nonfiction is seeking a Development Intern for Fall 2025 to support the development of new and existing ideas within its B17 Entertainment production company. The intern will assist with research, writing copy for sales decks, pulling images and footage for sales decks and sizzle reels, and potentially editing string outs. The role encourages interns to contribute new ideas, participate in group brainstorms, and stay updated on social media trends. Opportunities to assist on shoots may also arise. This paid, seasonal assignment is designed for students enrolled in accredited colleges or universities interested in gaining professional experience in unscripted television and content creation. The internship runs from September through December, with flexible start and end dates based on school schedules, requiring 10-29 hours per week.

SPE INTERN:

This Fall Internship is from September through December 12th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 10-29 hours/week, in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience.

 

 

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

 

B17 Entertainment is a full-service production company under Sony Nonfiction. Based in Los Angeles, California, B17 produces breakthrough content in a variety of genres including cooking shows, game shows, dating shows, and social experiments. Some of B17 Entertainment’s recent productions include Extracted for FOX, Blue Ribbon Baking Championship for Netflix, Emmy award-winning Book of Queer for Discovery+, The Final Straw for ABC and Thanks A Million with Jennifer Lopez for Roku. As leaders in a new era of content creation, our focus is on multi-platform programming with millennial and Gen Z appeal. B17 Development department is looking for a summer intern to help support the development of new and existing ideas.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The intern will be responsible for helping research, writing copy for sales decks, pulling images and footage for sales decks and sizzle reels, and ideally helping edit string outs. The intern will also be encouraged to bring in new ideas, contribute in group brainstorms, and keep the company apprised of what’s trending across various social media. May have the chance to go on set and assist on shoots, when available.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • In college or just graduated students who are interested in a career in unscripted television/content.

  • Writing experience

  • Strong researcher

The anticipated base salary for this position is $19/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
