Job Description

This Director, Engineering role at LSEG Risk Intelligence leads US, UK, and India-based engineers in developing Digital Identity & Fraud products. The individual will be accountable for implementing the engineering roadmap, ensuring high service quality, driving innovation in fraud prevention, and aligning with LSEG's technical strategy. The role requires strong leadership in modern software delivery, cloud, AI, and agile techniques, fostering a high-performance team culture focused on quality and accountability.
Must Have:
  • Lead engineers in the development of Digital Identity & Fraud Products and Services.
  • Ensure high levels of service, quality, security, and performance are consistently met.
  • Drive innovation and differentiation within the Risk domain.
  • Provide thought leadership in modern software delivery on cloud, AI-enabled software delivery and agile techniques.
  • Accountable for a program of service improvement for product performance and availability.
  • Lead teams to deliver quality products on time, following Agile software development practices.
  • Foster a high-performance engineering team through mentoring, engagement, and performance management.
  • Nurture a culture of quality, accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making.
  • Own and define the client outcome with the product team.
  • Degree level qualification, preferably in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Deep knowledge and experience of Microsoft & Azure development architectures and tooling.
  • Deep experience solving sophisticated API, distributed architecture and data problems.
  • Experience with use cases involving highly restricted data.
  • Strong change skills and deep experience in modernizing sophisticated stacks.
  • Ability to manage the change and relationships across developers, operations, product, legal, compliance and clients.
  • Worked in agile SDLC, have a product mentality and experience working in organisations with modern product management practices.
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed teams, in a matrixed organization.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-location multi time zone environment.
  • Ability to put customer first and partner closely with product, sales and operations teams.
  • Support business teams for client presentations and strategy updates.
  • Experience working across multiple functional disciplines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

This key engineering leadership role is based in Nottingham, UK and will lead US, UK and India based engineers. The individual will be accountable for implementing the engineering roadmap, working with LSEG technology architecture to ensure alignment with the technical strategy.

Key accountabilities:

  • Lead engineers in the development of several Digital Identity & Fraud Products and Services in order to meet ongoing business needs.
  • Ensure high levels of service, quality, security, and performance are consistently met. Drive innovations to lead growing volumes that reduce cost and TTM.
  • Drive innovation and differentiation to better address current and future needs within the Risk domain.
  • Provide thought leadership in the area of modern software delivery on cloud, AI-enabled software delivery and agile techniques.
  • Accountable for a program of service improvement for the performance and availability of products and lead changing expectations around security, privacy, and data residency.
  • Lead the teams to deliver quality products on time, following Agile software development practices.
  • Foster a high-performance engineering team through mentoring, engagement, and performance management.
  • Nurture a culture of quality, accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making.
  • Own and define the client outcome with the product team and not just take ‘specs.

Key skills and experience:

  • Degree level qualification, preferably in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Deep knowledge and experience of Microsoft & Azure development architectures and tooling
  • Deep experience solving sophisticated API, distributed architecture and data problems
  • Experience with use cases involving highly restricted data
  • Strong change skills and deep experience in modernizing sophisticated stacks.
  • Ability to manage the change and relationships across developers, operations, product, legal, compliance and clients spanning many individuals.
  • Worked in agile SDLC, have a product mentality and experience working in organisations with modern product management practices.
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed teams, in a matrixed organization.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-location multi time zone environment, with remote stake holders and dependent teams.
  • Ability to put customer first and partner closely with product, sales and operations teams to craft solutions for clients.
  • Support business teams for client presentations and strategy updates.
  • Experience working across multiple functional disciplines, including security, compliance, legal, and other engineering functional teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills including the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate across multiple management and organizational levels.
