Director of Global Payment Strategy

Location Details: 

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time; others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.  

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

GoDaddy is not currently considering candidates for this role in California, Seattle, or NYC.

Our team owns GoDaddy’s merchant payment platform, which is responsible for processing more than $5B in payments and more than $300M in payouts to GoDaddy’s customers. The Payments team at GoDaddy is high visibility and high impact. The Director of Payment Strategy will drive our payment acceptance and payouts strategy to support our global customer base by developing and optimizing our payment processing partnerships and capabilities to optimize payment success rates and cost efficiency for our $5B+ subscriptions business. By evolving our payment offering, you will support growth of GoDaddy’s customer base across domestic and international markets while mitigating regulatory and compliance risk.

What you'll get to do...

• Payments Strategy: Develop and execute a merchant payments strategy that aligns with GoDaddy's global growth objectives and brand needs by expanding our supported payment methods and payment capabilities that drive growth while optimizing payment success and cost efficiency.
• Customer Focus: Deliver a world-class payment experience for our customers, ensuring seamless and easy payment collection.
• Vendor & Partner Management: Partner with payment processors, banks, and fintech firms to optimize performance, reduce costs, and expand market reach through strategic collaborations.
• Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with vendors and partners to secure favorable terms and conditions that benefit GoDaddy's payment efficiency.
• Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with payment regulations, payment network rules, and security protocols, mitigating fraud and chargeback risks.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data analytics to monitor key metrics, analyze performance data, and iterate strategies to maximize impact.

Your experience should include...

• 8+ years of experience in payments operations, merchant services, or related roles.
• Proven track record in optimizing payment solutions with deep expertise in global payment processing, card networks, alternative payment methods, and compliance.
• Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams and working with payment processors, gateways, and financial institutions to drive alignment and execution.
