Director of Product Design

Gameopedia is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Product Design to join our team in shaping the future of the gaming industry. As a leading online platform for gamers and businesses, we are dedicated to creating life-changing experiences by empowering players and connecting them with the games and opportunities they love.

We're a global team of 120+ tech junkies who manage one of the world’s largest living libraries of video game data. Our catalog has information on over 130,000 games across 200 platforms and we're growing every day.

As the Director of Product Design, you will spearhead a team of talented Product Designers dedicated to crafting exceptional, user-centered experiences. In collaboration with our product, engineering, and business teams, you will define and execute user experience design strategies across our diverse product portfolio.

As our design leader you will help define and drive the future of Gameopedia’s design. Create and clarify design strategy, conceptualize ecosystems in ways that mitigate complexity, and inspire teams to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You possess a clear vision of the future of user experience and have the courage to pursue forward-thinking design.

What you will do:

• Lead a growing team of Product Designers across different products.
• Instill a culture of learning, research, and Design Thinking across the full end-to-end customer journey.
• Influence stakeholders across functions to gain support for design strategies.
• Drive the development of innovative design solutions to user, product, and business problems.
• Drive a holistic design process, design system, or design language across teams or products.
• Nurture a positive, creative, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages collaboration with constructive and respectful feedback.
• Evangelize design methodologies and best practices.
  

What you will need:

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of leading design teams and delivering exceptional user experiences.
• A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of product design projects and demonstrating a deep understanding of user-centered design principles.
• Demonstrated executive presence with a self-starter mindset, strong sense of ownership, and a passion for achieving results.
• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to interact effectively and build trust with peers and senior management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Experience in developing and managing design systems and processes that scale across multiple teams and products.
• Experience in Consumer and SaaS product design is highly desirable.
