As a Distinguished Software Development Engineer focused on our EMS applications and the Flow platform, you will engage at all levels with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff. You will be solving deep technological problems connected to human systems and building innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment working with smart and passionate developers. You must have hands-on development experience on multiple platforms as well as web services. Your responsibilities will include owning the overarching solution, working closely with software engineering teams to bridge key technical relationships, and driving projects towards success. You will work closely with product owners and software engineering teams to define the roadmap, architecture, and success metrics for new system capabilities, and influence the broader Autodesk EMS Cloud products.
You’ll help establish technical standards and drive engineering practices. You’ll work on Autodesk’s hardest problems - building high quality, architecturally sound systems that are aligned with our business needs. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer engagement and communication skills as well as the technical background to fluently interact and provide guidance to software developers and architects.
As a senior technical individual contributor, you will join the ranks of a large and growing community of Distinguished, Sr. Distinguished and Fellow Engineers/Architects. As such, you’ll be a technical leader. You’ll help establish technical standards and drive Autodesk’s overall technical architecture and engineering practices. You’ll work on Autodesk’s hardest problems, building high quality, architecturally sound systems that are aligned with our business needs. Autodesk senior technical contributors are pragmatic visionaries who can translate business needs into workable technology solutions. Your expertise is deep and broad; you’re hands on, producing both detailed technical work and high-level architectural designs.
The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader, builder and operator. You’ll have experience leading or contributing to multiple simultaneous product development initiatives. You’ll be able to balance technical leadership with strong business judgment to make the right decisions about technology choices. You’ll strive for simplicity and demonstrate significant creativity and high judgment.

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $188,400 and $304,700. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
