Position Overview
Autodesk Consulting is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Business Strategy Consultant with a proven track record in executing and enabling Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) and Industrialized Construction (IC) strategies. The ideal candidate will bring deep insight into global trends in DfMA/IC, a strategic mindset, and experience in turning vision into execution.
You are a seasoned strategic thinker with cross-functional expertise in industry domains and emerging technologies. You possess the ability to work closely with executive-level clients to co-develop digital transformation strategies, define value metrics, assess current performance, and shape implementable solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. This is a Tokyo-based role that offers the opportunity to be a key part of Autodesk’s efforts to lead innovation in construction and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on strategic transformation initiatives, including supply chain integration, digitalization, Industry 4.0, enterprise asset management, BIM, cloud platforms, AI/ML, and related innovation programs
- Translate visionary ideas and market trends into measurable business outcomes
- Collaborate closely with executive and senior business leaders to clarify and prioritize strategic goals
- Work cross-functionally with solution architects, consultants, and Autodesk stakeholders to propose optimal approaches and deliver customer-ready solutions
- Contribute to the creation, review, and management of high-quality deliverables such as proposals, business assessments, recommendations, workflow documentation, and process analysis
- Support project scoping, estimation, work breakdown structuring, and delivery methodology selection
- Facilitate effective decision-making and resolution of complex business/technical issues
- Support sales pursuits and identify additional product/service opportunities within client organizations
- Help establish Autodesk as a thought leader by developing and promoting compelling insights in the DfMA/IC space
- Willingness to travel up to 50% as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or industrial consulting
- Deep process knowledge of Autodesk and/or competitor products such as ACC, Inventor, Factory Design Suite, Fusion 360, Dynamo, BIM 360, and Revit etc
- Strong facilitation skills for both in-person and remote sessions, including conflict resolution and stakeholder alignment
- Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts and build influence with stakeholders
- Skilled in defining practical, value-driven solutions grounded in both product and domain knowledge
- Proven collaborator and team player, able to support and work effectively across shared responsibility teams
Preferred Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with BIM 360
- Demonstrated experience and leadership in DfMA and IC implementation
- Familiarity with global DfMA/IC trends and innovations, and how they apply in the Japanese market
- Strong vision development and strategic planning experience
- A mindset focused on “how we can make it work,” with a bias for execution
- A leadership attitude aligned with Autodesk’s mission to lead the industry transformation in IC and digital construction

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
