Autodesk is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a key team in transforming Autodesk.com into a modern, experimentation-driven, AI-ready digital growth platform. This role involves owning the execution, delivery, and technical leadership for a high-impact engineering pod focused on customer acquisition, trial conversion, funnel optimization, experimentation, and digital messaging. The manager will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and measurable customer experiences, while also managing and developing a team of engineers.

Must Have

  • Own end-to-end delivery for web experiences, platforms, and experimentation frameworks.
  • Translate product and business goals into clear technical plans and execution strategy.
  • Drive predictable delivery balancing speed, quality, reliability, and compliance.
  • Lead execution in Next.js, React, TypeScript, headless CMS, experimentation, and analytics stack.
  • Partner with Staff and Senior Engineers on architecture, system design, and technical tradeoffs.
  • Ensure strong engineering fundamentals: performance, reliability, observability, privacy, and security.
  • Guide implementation of experimentation, personalization, analytics instrumentation, and server-side integrations.
  • Manage, coach, and grow a team of engineers across experience levels.
  • Work closely with Product Managers to shape roadmaps and scope outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Design on experience quality and usability.
  • Collaborate with Data, Analytics, Marketing, Privacy, and Legal for measurable and compliant solutions.
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years in an engineering management or technical leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of modern web architectures (React, Next.js, APIs, headless CMS).
  • Experience leading teams building customer-facing, high-traffic web platforms.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with Product and Design.

Good to Have

  • Experience with experimentation platforms, A/B testing, personalization, or growth engineering.
  • Familiarity with analytics, instrumentation, and data-driven decision making.
  • Understanding of privacy, consent management, and server-side integrations.
  • Experience working in large, matrixed organizations.

Autodesk is rebuilding Autodesk.com into a modern, experimentation-driven, AI-ready digital growth platform. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one of the core teams within this transformation.

In this role, you will own the execution, delivery, and technical leadership of a high-impact engineering pod focused on customer acquisition, trial conversion, funnel optimization, experimentation, and digital messaging. You will partner closely with Product Management, Experience Design, Analytics, Marketing, and Privacy to deliver scalable, compliant, and measurable customer experiences.

You will report to a Senior Engineering Manager and play a key role in translating strategy into execution while growing engineers and raising the technical bar.

Responsibilities

Engineering & Delivery Leadership

  • Own end-to-end delivery for your team across web experiences, platforms, and experimentation frameworks
  • Translate product and business goals into clear technical plans, milestones, and execution strategy
  • Drive predictable delivery while balancing speed, quality, reliability, and compliance
  • Lead execution in a modern stack including Next.js, React, TypeScript, headless CMS, experimentation, and analytics

Technical Leadership (Hands-on Guidance, Not IC)

  • Partner with Staff and Senior Engineers on architecture, system design, and technical tradeoffs
  • Ensure strong engineering fundamentals: performance, reliability, observability, privacy, and security
  • Guide implementation of experimentation, personalization, analytics instrumentation, and server-side integrations
  • Review and influence designs for scalable, maintainable, and privacy-safe systems

People Management & Growth

  • Manage, coach, and grow a team of engineers across experience levels
  • Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and support career development
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, learning, and psychological safety
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and team scaling as the organization grows

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Work closely with Product Managers to shape roadmaps and scope outcomes
  • Partner with Design on experience quality and usability
  • Collaborate with Data, Analytics, Marketing, Privacy, and Legal to ensure solutions are measurable and compliant
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders, surface risks early, and drive alignment

Operational Excellence

  • Improve team execution through better planning, prioritization, and dependency management
  • Establish and evolve processes that support experimentation at scale
  • Use data and metrics to guide decisions and continuously improve outcomes

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in an engineering management or technical leadership role
  • Strong understanding of modern web architectures (React, Next.js, APIs, headless CMS)
  • Experience leading teams building customer-facing, high-traffic web platforms
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with Product and Design
  • Strong communication skills and comfort operating in ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with experimentation platforms, A/B testing, personalization, or growth engineering
  • Familiarity with analytics, instrumentation, and data-driven decision making
  • Understanding of privacy, consent management, and server-side integrations
  • Experience working in large, matrixed organizations
