Job Summary

This Senior Software Engineer position at Autodesk involves working as a self-motivated backend developer within the Fusion 360 Data Services dev team. The role focuses on developing, maintaining, and supporting Data Management services for Autodesk's flagship product, Fusion 360, which serves over a million global users. Responsibilities include writing high-quality, efficient code for critical microservices, evaluating system performance, contributing to test automation, and collaborating with stakeholders to translate requirements into high-quality services.

Must Have

  • Work in a highly professional scrum team that owns critical micro services.
  • Write high-quality, clean, and efficient code following development guidelines.
  • Proactively and continuously evaluate and address issues related to performance, stability, scalability, and extensibility.
  • Contribute to test automations, including writing, monitoring, and maintaining them.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand, analyze requirements, and translate them into high quality micro services.
  • Research and prototype innovative ideas, technologies, and patterns.
  • Deliver results that meet product user stories with an elevated level of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud services and applications development.
  • Strong understanding of Java programming language, object-oriented design principles, Spring and Jersey.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining large-scale micro services with strong understanding of Caching (preferably Redis), Distributed Tracing, Eventing (Preferably Kinesis) and Scaling techniques.
  • Experience in developing RESTful web services using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Jersey.
  • Experience with Relational and NoSQL database technologies, e.g. MySQL, DynamoDB.
  • Hands-on experience with unit and automation testing tools such as JUnit, Cucumber, JMeter.
  • Working knowledge of UML, Software Design Patterns, Distributed Systems, Resiliency, and Security.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills by performing Stack trace Analysis, Thread and Memory profiling, Remote debugging.
  • Experience with Build and CI/CD tools like Gradle, Maven, Docker, Jenkins.
  • Experience with Git or equivalent version control system.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work with colleagues across different time zones.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.

Good to Have

  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) stack - ECS, Lambda, Batch, Step Function, API Gateway, CloudFront, S3, SQS, etc.
  • Familiarity with Python and Groovy.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS, React.js, Redux.
  • Experience with Agile development practices.
  • Experience with Search technologies like Lucene and Elasticsearch.
  • Experience working with Jira and Wiki.

Position overview

We are looking for a self-motivated backend developer with expertise in Server-side software development to join our Fusion 360 Data Services dev team. This team develops, maintains and supports Data Management services, including Fusion Team, for Autodesk flagship product Fusion 360. Autodesk Fusion 360 has over a million users globally, it is a next generation CAD application with an ecosystem of Client & Server components, next generation Web client, SDK and a variety of Cloud Services that interact with world leading CAD Products such as AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a highly professional scrum team that owns critical micro services that are the foundation of Fusion 360 Data
  • Write high-quality, clean, and efficient code following the development guidelines

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
