Job Description

As an Embedded Software Developer at Wind River, a global leader in mission-critical intelligent systems, you will join the Helix Virtualization Platform development team. This role involves delivering Real-Time Operating System solutions for avionics and automotive applications. Key responsibilities include developing high-quality design, code, and DO-178 certification documentation, investigating and resolving product issues, and participating in Agile software development processes. You will contribute to systems requiring the highest levels of security, safety, and reliability, leveraging your C, Python, and Linux shell scripting skills.
Good To Have:
  • Knowledge of RTOS software development
  • Certification experience
  • ARM/Intel/RISC-V SoC Experience
  • Experience with Virtualization
Must Have:
  • Develop and deliver high quality design and code.
  • Develop and deliver high quality documentation used for DO-178 certification evidence.
  • Ability to review DO-178 artifacts and provide guidance to conform to Certification standards
  • Investigate and resolve issues reported during product verification and customer integration.
  • Participate in all aspects of the software development process using Agile development.
  • BSc / MSc degree (Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree).
  • Local resident of the greater Ottawa area with ability to work physically on-site 3 days/week or more.
  • Legally able to work in the Country of Canada without requirement of any type of visa sponsorship/transfer.
  • 1 - 2 years of relevant technical experience in software development.
  • Strong analytical skills in the C programming language.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent programming skills using Python and Linux shells scripts.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Exceptional team player who works well in collaborative environments.
  • Self-managed, fast learner with the desire and ability to master new technologies.
  • Familiarity with iterative and agile/scrum software development processes.

YOUR ROLE

As an Embedded Software Developer on our team, you’ll join a highly skilled "Helix Virtualization Platform" development team delivering mission critical Real-Time Operating System for avionics and automotive applications. In your daily job you will:

  • Develop and deliver high quality design and code.
