Job Description
Technicon Design is seeking an Enterprise Tooling UX Researcher to conduct various research activities. Responsibilities include conducting E2E Tooling Shadowing Studies to understand developer workflows, performing usability studies to assess tool effectiveness, evaluating tools using heuristic methods, and drafting and analyzing surveys. The role requires a curiosity for technical topics. The position is remote-friendly.
Must Have:
- Conduct E2E Tooling Shadowing Studies.
- Perform usability studies to assess tool effectiveness.
- Evaluate tools using heuristic methods.
- Draft and analyze surveys.
- Bachelor of Arts Degree.
- 3+ years of experience in the UXR field.
- Curiosity for technical topics.
Technicon Design is hiring an Enterprise Tooling UX Researcher, to perform the following tasks:
Requirements:

E2E Tooling Shadowing Studies - Contextual inquiry research with developers studying engineering workflows, tooling, and process friction points. Ethnographic, shadowing, diary study, and other similar methods

Usability Studies - Measurement of tooling, task, and workflow effectiveness, including for design mockups of future internal tools and features

Heuristic Tool Evaluations - Immersion into specific developer tools to evaluate UX and usability issues to inform design and product changes

Small- and medium-size Surveys - Drafting, launching, and analysis of small and medium sized surveys among internal users

Potential pay rate range $100/hr and up, depending on experience.
- Curiosity for and willingness to understand and converse in a highly technical space is required.
Requirements:
- Batchelor of Arts Degree
- 3 Years + experience in UXR field
