This role involves developing precise Class A Surface data for both scale and full-size exterior and interior models using Alias. The Senior CAS Modeler will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with design objectives and contribute to process enhancement by staying updated on industry trends. The position requires a high level of creativity and problem-solving skills to overcome design challenges, along with the ability to work autonomously while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Must have:
  • Develop precise Class A Surface data for scale and full-size exterior and interior models using Alias.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with design objectives.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of the modeling process by utilizing Alias and staying abreast of industry trends.
  • Demonstrate a high level of creativity and problem-solving skills in overcoming design challenges.
  • Work independently, exercising autonomy in decision-making, while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Alias Studio.
  • Automotive OEM experience as CAS Modeler.
  • Equal experience in both Interior and Exterior modeling, with a good understanding of good modeling practices and real-world construction for physical models.
  • Working in single-span surfaces and logical path construction for ease of change and sharing/collaboration with other Modelers.
  • Building models from sketches and Engineering packages.
  • Building models from Design sketch models (Alias, SubD, Blender).
  • Ability to collaborate with Designers, Modelers, Visualization, and Engineers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ability to read sketches and understand Engineering criteria.
  • Prepare models and files for reviews (both- high and low-level), visualization, milling, and 3d printing.
  • Prepare models and files to vendors who will make physical models from our data.
  • Maintaining flexibility to react to project timeline changes, design request changes, engineering input, and last-minute changes overall is a must.
  • Experience working to scan data, including accurately reversing engineering from scan; as well as scan cleanup, cutting scan to graphic or material breakup for visual or modeling purposes.
Good to have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Industrial Design or equivalent experience

Qualifications That Will Set You Apart:
